Retinoblastoma is a malignant intraocular tumor and its treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach. Chemotherapy is an important modality in treatment of retinoblastoma. The purpose of this study was to assess the histopathological changes in retinoblastomas treated with chemotherapy along with correlation of comorbid conditions with high risk histopathological factors (HRF). ⋯ Histopathological evaluation of chemotherapy-treated eyes shows varying degrees of response to chemotherapy. Post enucleation histopathological evaluation of the globe plays an important role in assessing disease activity and guiding further treatment to prevent metastasis.

To determine epidemiology of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) in a tertiary care hospital, pre- and during pandemic. ⋯ Despite the limitation of a small sample size, our study has provided important information regarding the epidemiology and outcomes of IHCA pre- and during pandemic in a busy Pakistani tertiary care hospital. Our finding that gender differences exist in survival pre- and during pandemic needs to be explored further with more hospitals doing comparative studies.

To evaluate the sedative and analgesic effects of dexmedetomidine combined with propofol intravenous anesthesia in laparoscopic day surgery in pediatric urology. ⋯ Dexmedetomidine combined with intravenous propofol anesthesia may be helpful to shorten the extubation time, the recovery time and the stay time in the anesthesia resuscative room, improve the analgesic effect, and may reduce the inflammatory response and the expression of serum inflammatory cytokines, with no significant increase in side effects.

To determine the extent of ulcerative colitis and associated factors in patients who underwent sigmoidoscopy at Liver Center, Jail Road, Lahore, Pakistan. ⋯ Endoscopic extent and severity of ulcerative colitis is high in our studied population. Ulcerative colitis is more prevalent in younger age and female gender patients who presented with bloody diarrhea, while the presence of active smoking has negative association with finding the ulcerative colitis. However, presence of family history of IBD, diabetes mellitus and body weight of the patient has no statistical correlation with finding ulcerative colitis during sigmoidoscopic examination in our patients.
