To investigate the risk factors for shoulder pain after stroke, and prevent its occurrence effectively. ⋯ Great emphasis should be placed on the stroke patients with diabetes, limited shoulder joint activity, Brunnstrom grade I-III period, Ashworth 3-4 grade, motor arm score of NIHSS 3-4 points, or sensory disturbance, as these patients have higher risks for shoulder pain after stroke.

To investigate periodontitis risk factors and to establish a reference framework for identifying factors that place individuals at greater risk for periodontitis. ⋯ There are many risk factors for periodontitis. Clinicians need to be aware of these factors for early detection and treatment of the disease.

To identify association of underlying pre-morbidities with disease severity and mortality in hospitalized patients with Corona virus disease 2019. ⋯ Results are compatible with worldwide studies and underlying pre-morbidities are convincing risk factors for disease severity and mortality.

To observe the clinical efficacy of thymosin alpha 1 (Tα1) combined with multi-modality chemotherapy in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) complicated with diabetes and discuss the effects of such combination therapy on lymphocyte subsets and sputum levels of cytokines. ⋯ Tα1 combined with multi-modality chemotherapy has a visible curative effect on PTB patients with diabetes as it can regulate immune function and reduce the levels of inflammatory cytokines. As a safe combination therapy, it seems promising for further use in clinical practice.

To determine the diagnostic accuracy of procalcitonin in maternal plasma to detect early intra-amniotic infection in Preterm premature rupture of the membranes (PPROM) with respect of high vaginal swab as gold standard. ⋯ Diagnostic accuracy of maternal blood procalcitonin levels were found satisfactory in detection of early intra-amniotic infection in PPROM.
