Case ReportsUltrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block Combined with Pharmacological Treatment for Rosacea: A Report of Two Cases.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disease primarily affecting the central facial region, significantly involving the facial blood vessels and the sebaceous gland units associated with hair follicles. The stellate ganglion block (SGB) technique can restore balance to autonomic nervous function by interrupting the impulse conduction of preganglionic and postganglionic sympathetic nerve fibers, thereby alleviating excessive peripheral blood vessel contraction, enhancing tissue blood supply, balancing hormone secretion, and modulating immune responses. ⋯ In our case study, two patients with a disease duration exceeding six months underwent treatment involving oral medications, topical applications, and local cold spray, which yielded unsatisfactory results. Subsequently, our department employed the SGB method guided by multiple ultrasound assessments, resulting in nearly complete resolution of the intractable rosacea lesions in both patients.

Impact of Gender on Patient Experiences of Self-Management in Type 2 Diabetes: A Qualitative Study.
This study aims to identify gender disparities in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors related to self-management and control of Type 2 diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) among primary care patients. The research was conducted across multiple Spanish cities. ⋯ Gender differences significantly influence how patients perceive and manage type 2 diabetes, with women experiencing greater concern and care burden compared to men. Effective diabetes management requires tailored support that addresses these gender-specific challenges. Enhancing healthcare services with clear guidelines and support groups can improve self-management outcomes in both men and women.

Structural Equation Modelling to Identify Psychometric Determinants of Medication Adherence in a Survey of Kidney Dialysis Patients.
Medication non-adherence in dialysis patients is associated with increased mortality and higher healthcare costs. We assessed whether medication adherence is influenced by specific psychometric constructs measuring beliefs about the necessity for medication and concerns about them. We also tested whether medication knowledge, health literacy, and illness perceptions influenced this relationship. ⋯ Interventions that reduce patients' concerns about their medications are likely to improve adherence, rather than interventions that increase patients' perceived necessity for medication. Improving patients' general health literacy and facilitating a better understanding and more positive perception of the illness can probably achieve this. Our study is potentially limited by a lack of generalizability outside of the population and setting in which it was conducted.

The Relationship Between Continuity of Care and Enhancement of Clinical Outcomes Among Patients with Chronic Conditions.
Continuity of care is one of the main principles of family medicine, described as a relationship with a single provider that extends beyond a single illness episode. This retrospective study, conducted at King Saud University Family Medicine Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aimed to investigate the impact of having a regular primary care provider on clinical outcomes and preventive service delivery for patients with diabetes and/or hypertension. ⋯ This study's findings underscore the importance of continuity of care in chronic disease management and provide valuable and promising insights into the Saudi healthcare context, aligning with the Saudi Ministry of Health's vision for universal access to regular primary care providers.
