The Concizumab Pen-Injector is Easy to Use and Preferred by Hemophilia Patients and Caregivers: A Usability Study Assessing Pen-Injector Handling and Preference.
Concizumab is a once-daily prophylactic treatment developed for patients with hemophilia A or B (HA/HB) with or without inhibitors. It is the first treatment for hemophilia patients to be delivered subcutaneously using a pre-filled, multi-dose pen-injector with a 4 mm, 32 G needle. ⋯ Participants found the concizumab pen-injector easy to learn and easy to use and preferred it over their current injection systems.

Qualitative Comparison of Perceptions Regarding Patient Engagement for Patient Safety by Physicians, Nurses, and Patients.
Patient engagement in ensuring patient safety is widely acknowledged, there is still a need to explore how perceptions of patient engagement vary among different stakeholders within the healthcare system. We aimed to compare the perceptions regarding patient engagement for patient safety among physicians, nurses, and patients by exploring the perspectives. ⋯ All three groups agreed on the importance of patient engagement for patient safety but differed in its influencing factors. Efforts should be made to reduce the difference between the three groups on how to involve patients for patient safety.

Toenail Onychomycosis with or without Diabetes in Canada: Patient Treatment Preferences and Health State Utilities.
Toenail onychomycosis affects approximately 6.7% of Canadians. Symptoms include nail discolouration/disfiguration and pain; psychosocial impacts contribute to reduced health-related quality-of-life. Comorbid diabetes increases the risk of complications and exacerbates burden. Treatment may include topical therapy and/or oral agents. ⋯ Among patients with toenail onychomycosis, the presence of diabetes was associated with differing treatment-related preferences. Utility values for patients with toenail onychomycosis represent a significant decline from full health that is exacerbated by comorbid diabetes.

A Mobile Application for Anticoagulation Management in Patients After Heart Valve Replacement: A Usability Study.
Individualized anticoagulation therapy is a major challenge for patients after heart valve replacement. Mobile applications assisted by Artificial intelligence (AI) have great potential to meet the individual needs of patients. The study aimed to develop an AI technology-assisted mobile application (app) for anticoagulation management, understand patients' acceptance of such applications, and determine its feasibility. ⋯ This study confirmed the feasibility of using an AI technology-assisted mobile application for anticoagulation management in patients after heart valve replacement. To further develop this application, challenges lie in continuously improving the accuracy of recommended drug doses, obtaining family support, and ensuring information security.

Needs and Constraints for Cardiac Rehabilitation Among Patients with Coronary Heart Disease Within a Community-Based Setting: A Study Based on Focus Group Interviews.
This study aimed to explore the needs and constraints to cardiac rehabilitation (CR) among patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease (CHD) in a community-based setting, and thereby facilitating the implementation of effective CR programs for this population. ⋯ For more effective CR, community-based medical teams should provide more comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation programs. They should focus on individual variations and preferences of patients, as well as enhance the autonomy of patients and improve their self-care ability through effective empowerment measures.
