Perspectives on Treatment Decisions, Preferences, and Adherence and Long-Term Management in Asthma and COPD: A Qualitative Analysis of Patient, Caregiver, and Healthcare Provider Insights.
Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. This analysis assessed patient, caregiver, and healthcare provider (HCP) opinions regarding asthma and COPD diagnosis and treatment, including inhaler device preferences. ⋯ There is discordance between patient and HCP perceptions of treatment success and goals in asthma and COPD. Improved patient education and HCP-patient communication are needed to facilitate meaningful shared decision-making, optimize care plans, and provide early treatment options.

Intake Patterns and Experiences of Patients Using Direct Oral Anticoagulants Measured by Electronic Monitoring in Community Pharmacies.
Several international organizations advocate for monitoring of adherence to direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), given the prevalent issue of suboptimal adherence to DOACs. The aim was to investigate intake patterns in patients on DOAC therapy by electronic monitoring of medication adherence in community pharmacies (using a Medication Event Monitoring System® (MEMS®)-device), and to assess patients' experiences with this device. ⋯ High adherence rates were observed, but there was still room for improvement regarding intake moments. Positive experiences with an electronic device for medication adherence monitoring were reported.

The Impact of Social Support on Sleep Quality in Elderly Care Institutions in Northeast China: the Chain-Mediating Effect of Psychological Adjustment and Coping Style.
The aim of this study was to investigate the sleep quality as well as the influence of social support on the sleep quality of elderly people in nursing homes in northeast China, and analyze the chain-mediating role of psychological adjustment and coping styles in social support and sleep quality, thereby to provide a scientific basis for the development of effective intervention measures in this direction. ⋯ Psychological adjustment and coping styles have a chain-mediating effect between social support and sleep quality of the elderly in northeast China's elderly care institutions.

Ophthalmology Practice-Related Factors and Patient Loyalty: Mediating Role of Patient Satisfaction.
In the current period, competition among the healthcare sector has increased and healthcare providers try to get loyalty and satisfy the patients by establishing different strategies. ⋯ : The present study findings reveal the importance of focused patient satisfaction improvements in enhancing patient loyalty within ophthalmological clinic settings in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, we recommend future exploratory prospective research to find the satisfaction and loyalty factors that change over a period of time.

Expert Insight Into the Use of eHealth Interventions to Aid Medication Adherence During COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way healthcare is delivered by the increased utilisation of eHealth tools to deliver remote patient consultations. These eHealth tools served various functions during COVID-19 including monitoring and surveillance of patients. Therefore, assessment of digital health interventions for monitoring medication adherence is crucial to maximise the potential benefits of eHealth. The aim of this study is to understand the perspectives of experts in medication adherence around eHealth interventions used to aid adherence during COVID-19. ⋯ The increased utility of eHealth tools during COVID-19 highlighted their vital role in aiding medication adherence of patients. These technologies have both decreased and increased barriers to medication adherence through numerous ways. Future directions should focus on gaining the perspectives of patients on the use of eHealth interventions and its role in aiding medication adherence.
