Risk Factors Associated with Mortality in Intensive Care COVID-19 Patients: the importance of chest CT score and intubation timing as risk factors.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease with a high rate of progression to critical illness. However, the predictors of mortality in critically ill patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) are not yet well understood. In this study, we aimed to investigate the risk factors associated with ICU mortality in our hospital. ⋯ COVID-19 patients have a high ICU admission and mortality rate. Studies in the ICU are also crucial in this respect. In our study, we investigated the ICU mortality risk factors of COVID-19 patients. We determined a predictive mortality model consisting of APACHE II score and chest CT score. It was thought that this feasible and practical model would assist in making clinical decisions.

The objective of the study was to evaluate the response, relapse, reproductive results and demographic features of the patients with endometrioid adenocancer (EAC) and endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) who were treated with conservative treatment. This is the largest study when we consider the single center studies in this field. ⋯ Fertility-sparing treatment of EAC and EIN is a feasible approach, and the eligible patients should be given a chance to get pregnant.

miRNAs control various biological functions, such as cell proliferation, differentiation, signaling pathways, apoptosis and metabolism. Recently, it has been shown that there is a relationship between changes in miRNA expression and the development of acromegaly. Studies are needed to identify new disease-specific miRNAs. The aim of the current study is to evaluate plasma miR-29c-3p, miR-31-5p and miR-18a-5p steady-state levels in acromegaly. Another aim is to investigate whether there is a difference in the levels of these miRNAs in patients with inadequate control and controlled acromegaly with somatostatin analog (SSA) therapy. These miRNAs targeting the IGF-1 gene were determined by in silico estimation. ⋯ Plasma miR-29c-3p expression level is downregulated in patients with acromegaly, and this is more pronounced in patients with inadequate control.

A new approach to predicting shoulder dystocia: Fetal clavicle length.
This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between second- and third-trimester clavicle lengths and birth weight and shoulder dystocia. ⋯ Third-trimester fetal clavicle length, an important component of biacromial diameter, as measured by ultrasonography, is a practical and significant method for predicting macrosomia and shoulder dystocia.

Epidural fibrosis (EF) is a common cause of failed back surgery syndrome seen after spinal surgeries. The most frequent reason for the formation of EF is accumulated blood and its products in the operation zone. On the development of EF, the effect of bipolar coagulation and fibrillar oxidized cellulose, which are used frequently to control bleeding, was investigated. ⋯ The use of fibrillar oxidized cellulose was more effective for hemostasis than bipolar coagulation in reducing the development of EF.
