Functional asymmetry in the upper extremities may occur in infants with neuromotor problems due to neurodevelopmental or musculoskeletal disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Infant Motor Activity Log (IMAL-T), which assesses the frequency (how often) and quality (how well) of the affected arm usage during activities in infants with functional asymmetry in the upper extremities. ⋯ The IMAL-T is a reliable and valid parent-reported outcome measure that indicates the frequency and quality of the affected arm use during age-appropriate real-life activity in infants aged 6-24 months with upper extremity functional asymmetry due to neuromotor problems. The IMAL-T can be used in early intervention to assess upper extremity functional asymmetry in Turkish infants.

Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract(CAKUT) are the leading causes of childhood chronic kidney disease (CKD). The etiology of most of the cases is thought to be multifactorial. In this study, risk factors for CAKUT and the effect of mobile phone-related electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure during pregnancy were investigated. ⋯ The etiology of CAKUT is multifactorial. Our results suggest that prolonged phone call and higher EMF exposure during pregnancy increases the risk of CAKUT in the offspring.

The incidence of adrenal tumors is increasing due to the widespread utilization of radiographic imaging techniques. Factors such as tumor size, radiological characteristics, and functionality of adrenal adenomas play crucial roles in diagnosis and subsequent management. In this retrospective study, we investigated the clinical, radiological, and surgical features of patients with adrenal incidentalomas (AIs) and evaluated their follow-up results. ⋯ Although the majority of AIs are nonfunctioning, the prevalence of functioning adrenal adenomas is not rare. Our findings suggest that adenoma size emerges as a valuable predictor for early detection of functioning adenomas. In addition, smaller masses appear to carry a lower risk of malignancy.

The increase in the proportion of the elderly population within society is concurrently escalating their vulnerability to traumas, notably falls associated with age-related comorbidities. ⋯ In the future, specialized measures and prospective studies tailored to the geriatric population, which will constitute the largest demographic segment of society, can facilitate the prevention of trauma-related morbidity and mortality, including associated financial costs.

Awake craniotomy (AC) maximizes the resection of lesions in eloquent brain areas while preserving functionality. Tumor delineation with intraoperative use of sodium fluorescein (NaFl) facilitates total resection. When used with AC, it may allow for safe resection without increasing the risk of postoperative neurologic deficits. This study investigated the efficacy and safety of the combined use of NaFl and AC for maximum safe resection in patients with brain metastases. ⋯ Fluorescence-guided resection in AC for metastatic tumors in sensory, motor, and cognitive areas is a feasible, safe, and convenient technique that significantly increases GTR rates and shortens operative time compared to conventional white light surgery without fluorescence guidance. It also does not increase the incidence of postoperative complications. With the combined use of AC and NaFl, ensuring clear and visible tumor margins during surgery and controlling patients' neurological function in real-time are possible.
