Nusinersen in later-onset spinal muscular atrophy: Long-term results from the phase 1/2 studies.
To report results of intrathecal nusinersen in children with later-onset spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). ⋯ This study provides Class IV evidence that nusinersen improves motor function in children with later-onset SMA.

Photosensitive epilepsy: Robust clinical efficacy of a selective GABA potentiator.
The objective of this phase 2a study was to assess the activity of PF-06372865, a positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of α2/3/5 subunit-containing GABAA receptors with minimal activity at α1-containing receptors, which are believed to mediate many of the adverse events associated with benzodiazepines, in the epilepsy photosensitivity model as a proof-of-principle of efficacy. ⋯ This study provides Class II evidence that for people with a stable photoparoxysmal response to intermittent photic stimulation, PF-06372865 reduces the SPR.

Early focal brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage correlates with spreading depolarizations.
To investigate whether spreading depolarization (SD)-related variables at 2 different time windows (days 1-4 and 5-8) after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) correlate with the stereologically determined volume of early focal brain injury on the preinterventional CT scan. ⋯ Our findings suggest that early focal brain injury after aSAH is associated with early SDs and further support the notion that SDs are a biomarker of focal brain lesions.

Developmental venous anomaly in adult patients with diffuse glioma: A clinically relevant coexistence?
To determine the prevalence of developmental venous anomaly in adult patients with diffuse glioma. ⋯ We report and replicate in an external cohort a high prevalence of developmental venous anomaly in adult patients with diffuse glioma, which suggests a potential underlying common predisposition or a causal relationship that requires deeper investigations.

Dual antiplatelet therapy pretreatment in IV thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke.
We sought to determine the safety and efficacy of IV thrombolysis (IVT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients with a history of dual antiplatelet therapy pretreatment (DAPP) in a prospective multicenter study. ⋯ This study provides Class III evidence that for IVT-treated patients with AIS, DAPP is not associated with a significantly higher risk of sICH. The study lacked the precision to exclude a potentially meaningful increase in sICH bleeding risk.
