To estimate the average postponement of death in statin trials. ⋯ Statin treatment results in a surprisingly small average gain in overall survival within the trials' running time. For patients whose life expectancy is limited or who have adverse effects of treatment, withholding statin therapy should be considered.

Review
Disparities in the completion of steps to kidney transplantation: protocol for a systematic review.
Disparities in access to transplantation have been well documented. The extant literature, however, focuses largely on disparities and related barriers for African-American patients and none has used the steps to transplantation as a guiding framework. This review will catalogue disparities in the steps to transplantation as well as the barriers and facilitators to completion of each step identified in the extant literature. The results of the review will be used to generate recommendations for future research to improve equity in access to kidney transplantation. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42014015027.

Review Meta Analysis
Are mass-media campaigns effective in preventing drug use? A Cochrane systematic review and meta-analysis.
To determine whether there is evidence that mass-media campaigns can be effective in reducing illicit drug consumption and the intent to consume. ⋯ Studies were considerably heterogeneous in type of mass-media intervention, outcome measures, underlying theory, comparison groups and design. Such factors can contribute to explaining the observed variability in results. Owing to the risk of adverse effects, caution is needed in disseminating mass-media campaigns tackling drug use. Large studies conducted with appropriate methodology are warranted to consolidate the evidence base.
