[McGRATH® MAC Is Useful to Learn Tracheal Intubation Using a Macintosh Laryngoscope].
Learning tracheal intubation using a Macintosh laryngoscope (McL) is important although video laryngoscope is becoming popular. The purpose of this study was to compare the usefulness as a training device for intubation technique using McL with three devices; McGRATH® MAC (MAC), Airwayscope® (AWS) and McL. ⋯ The McGRATH® MAC may possess advantages compared to Airwayscope® and Macintosh laryngoscope as a training device for learning intubation technique using Macintosh laryngoscope and understanding anatomy of the larynx.

[The Effect of Preoperative Oral Rehydration on Hemodynamic Changes during Induction of Anesthesia and Intraoperative Fluid Management].
Preoperative oral rehydration solution (ORS) prevents dehydration before surgery. Therefore taking enough ORS possibly reduces the hemodynamic changes during induction of anesthesia, and reduces the amount of fluid needed during anesthesia. ⋯ Preoperative oral rehydration increases circulating blood volume, it keeps high CI during induction of anesthesia, and reduces the amount of intraoperative fluid.

[Hypotonic Versus Isotonic Electrolyte Solution for Perioperative Fluid Therapy in Infants].
This study was designed to evaluate the effects of perioperative administration of an isotonic electrolyte solution with 1% glucose (IT) on blood sodium (Na+) and blood glucose (BG) concentrations in pediatric patients < 1-year-old undergoing plastic surgery in comparison with a conventional hypotonic electrolyte solution with 2.6% glucose (HT). ⋯ Isotonic solution with 1% glucose is suggested to be safe in infants during and after surgery.

[Effect of Preoperative Oral Rehydration on Onset Time and Recovery Time of Rocuronium].
Preoperative oral rehydration solution (ORS) prevents hypovolemia. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of intubating dose of rocuronium in patients taking and those not taking preoperative ORS. ⋯ Preoperative oral rehydration possibly increases circulating blood volume, and shortens the duration of rocuronium effect.

[Postoperative pain management in video-assisted thoracic surgery using a continuous unilateral intercostal analgesia].
Optimal pain management after video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) remains an open issue. We prospectively studied the analgesic effect of intercostal analgegia (ICA) by comparison with epidural analgesia. ⋯ In patients with coagulopathy, multimodal approach using intercostal analgesia supplemented by intravenous patient-controlled analgesia may be an alternative to epidural analgesia for postoperative pain management.
