Effects of dual blockade of renin-angiotensin system in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with diabetic nephropathy.
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) have been shown to delay the progression to proteinuria and kidney failure in hypertensive type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic nephropathy. Further synergistic effect may be obtained by combined therapy with both ARB and ACE inhibitors. ⋯ Adding maximal recommended dose of ARB with maximal recommended dose of ACE inhibitors in type 2 diabetic patients can reduce proteinuria more than ACE inhibitors alone. This treatment is safe and well tolerated.

Lower uterine segment compression for management of early postpartum hemorrhage after vaginal delivery at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital.
1. To evaluate the efficacy of lower uterine compression method in treatment of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). 2. To compare the amount of blood loss in PPH between the lower uterine compression method and the conventional treatment. ⋯ The lower uterine compression method is a very effective procedure for treating PPH. It is simple to use, safe and no cost. This technique is an innovative scheme in the obstetrics field. The more efficient treatment of PPH would have a positive impact on the outcome of many patients who have postpartum hemorrhage, leading to the reduction in morbidity or even save the lives of patients.

Placental cord drainage and the effect on the duration of third stage labour, a randomized controlled trial.
To assess the effect of placental cord drainage on the duration of third stage labor, and to clarify the safety of this method regarding to postpartum hemorrhage, retained placenta, incidence of manual removal of placenta, and the need for blood transfusion. ⋯ Placental cord drainage shortens the duration of third stage labour. This method appears to be safe and does not increase postpartum complication.

Clinical comparison between six-strand hamstring tendon and patellar tendon autograft in arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a prospective, randomized clinical trial.
Many randomized clinical trials demonstrated that 4-strand hamstring tendon grafts have comparable results both subjectively and objectively with the patellar tendon grafts. The authors hypothesized that the increment of hamstring tendons strength with 6-strand graft could improve the knee stability compared to the result from using the gold standard patellar tendon. ⋯ The authors concluded that using 6-strand hamstring tendons could improve knee stability in the early clinical outcomes. With no difference in subjective assessment, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction used hamstring tendons have less donor-site morbidity, which is more compatible to Asian life-style.

The effect of tranexamic acid for treatment irregular uterine bleeding secondary to DMPA use.
Evaluate the efficacy of tranexamic acid and placebo for controlling irregular uterine bleeding in depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) users. ⋯ Tranexamic acid was more effective than placebo in short-term treatment of irregular uterine bleeding/spotting associated with DMPA use.
