Multicenter StudyMaternal Mental Health in Assisted and Natural Conception: A Prospective Cohort Study.
This study sought to compare the pregnancy and postpartum self-reported mood and mental health status of women who conceived with assisted reproductive technology (ART) with those of women who conceived spontaneously. ⋯ Women who conceived using ART reported decreased rates of depressive symptoms, perceived stress, and generalized anxiety during the second trimester of pregnancy compared with women who had SC pregnancies, and both groups experienced similar mental health status earlier in gestation and in the postpartum period.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyPIERS proteinuria: relationship with adverse maternal and perinatal outcome.
To examine the ability of three different proteinuria assessment methods (urinary dipstick, spot urine protein:creatinine ratio [Pr/Cr], and 24-hour urine collection) to predict adverse pregnancy outcomes. ⋯ The measured amount of proteinuria should not be used in isolation for decision-making in women with preeclampsia. Dipstick proteinuria performs as well as other methods of assessing proteinuria for prediction of adverse events.

Multicenter StudyShort-term morbidity and long-term recurrence rate of ovarian dermoid cysts treated by laparoscopy versus laparotomy.
To compare the short-term morbidity and the long-term recurrence rate of ovarian dermoid cysts in women treated conservatively by laparoscopy with the outcomes in women treated by laparotomy. ⋯ Ovarian cystectomy performed by laparoscopy is associated with a higher incidence of intra-abdominal spillage than laparotomy, but this not associated with any increase in morbidity. Laparoscopic treatment results in a shorter hospital stay and less intraoperative blood loss than laparotomy, but it is associated with a significantly higher risk of recurrence.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical TrialRandomized controlled trial of rectal misoprostol versus oxytocin in third stage management.
To compare rectal misoprostol with oxytocin for routine management of the third stage of labour. ⋯ Rectal misoprostol is of equivalent efficacy to parenteral oxytocin for the prevention of primary postpartum hemorrhage. Rectal misoprostol is an appropriate uterotonic agent for routine management of the third stage of labour.
