[Effect of time elapsed on continuous pulse contour cardiac output measurement in septic shock patients].
To evaluate the effect of time elapsed on continuous pulse contour cardiac output (PCCO) measurement in septic shock patients. ⋯ Our study in septic shock patients suggests that the accuracy of PCCO will be decreased as the increase of the time interval for calibration. Transpulmonary thermodilution calibration should be performed again if hemodynamic changes or was inconsistent with the clinical presentation. It is suggested that re-calibration should be done within 8 hours.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Evaluation of high volume hemofiltration according to pulse-indicated continuous cardiac output on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To study the effects of high volume hemofiltration (HVHF) according to pulse-indicated continuous cardiac output (PiCCO) on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Levels of inflammatory factors in patients with ARDS could be reduced by HVHF. The oxygenation and compliance of lung can be improved, the number of organ failure can be lowered, the duration of mechanical ventilation and the length of stay in ICU can be shortened, and the hospital mortality could be declined by PiCCO guided HVHF.

[The assessment of ultrasonic measurement of superior vena cava blood flow for the volume responsiveness of patients with mechanical ventilation].
To approach the evaluative effect of respiratory variation of superior vena cava peak flow velocity measured using transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) on fluid responsiveness in patients with mechanical ventilation. ⋯ Respiratory variations in superior vena cava peak velocity measured by TTE could assess fluid responsiveness in patients with mechanical ventilation.

[Study of the mechanisms of curcumin on mitochondrial permeability transition of hepatocytes in rats with sepsis].
To study the effects of mitochondrial permeability transition (MPT) on hepatocyte apoptosis and mitochondrial damage, and investigate the effects of curcumin on MPT and the related mechanisms in septic rat. ⋯ MPT can lead to mitochondrial dysfunction and further cause hepatocyte apoptosis. Mechanism of effect of curcumin on MPT may be related to reduction of intracellular calcium concentration, promotion of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 gene expression, inhibition of caspase-3 activation and Bax gene.

[The effects of fluid resuscitation on oxygenation index and prognosis in early stage of severe acute pancreatitis].
To analyze the correlation between fluid equilibrium and oxygen index in patients at early stage (within 2 weeks) of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), and to discuss the effects of fluid equilibrium after resuscitation on the prognosis. ⋯ Early fluid resuscitation could help maintain hemodynamics stability in SAP patients. Those SAP patients who showed a negative equilibrium in early stage showed a better prognosis, and the fluid equilibrium and oxygen index in improved patients fit the logistic curve after 3 days of ICU admission.
