[Comparison of efficacy between veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) and VV-ECMO combined with prone position ventilation for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To observe the effects of veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) combined with prone position ventilation (PPV) on oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2), respiratory compliance (Crs) and vasoactive inotropic score (VIS) in severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. ⋯ The combination of PPV during VV-ECMO could further increase PaO2/FiO2, improve hypoxemia and implement further protective lung ventilation to reduce the potential hazards during mechanical ventilation. In addition, no serious adverse events were observed in this study, suggesting PPV is safe during VV-ECMO.

[Combined prognostic value of serum lactic acid, procalcitonin and severity score for short-term prognosis of septic shock patients].
To explore the value of lactic acid (Lac), procalcitonin (PCT), sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II (APACHE II) score in assessing the severity and predicting the prognosis in sepsis shock. ⋯ Lac, PCT, SOFA score, APACHE II score and age were independent risk factors for death in patients with septic shock, and the accuracy of Lac, SOFA score, APACHE II score and age in predicting short-term prognosis of septic shock was better than that of single variable, and the diagnostic value was higher.

[Serpins as important protective factors in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome].
Acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) is a common respiratory disease in clinic, and with a pathological manifestation of pulmonary edema, decreased pulmonary compliance as well as pulmonary epithelial/endothelial cells injury. At present, it was suggested that systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) caused by various causes which play an important role in the occurrence and development of ALI/ARDS. Widely activated neutrophils can migrate to lung tissue and release plenty of proteases in the procedure of SIRS, including neutrophil serine proteases (NSPs), lysozyme, myeloperoxidase and collagenase, which can induce severe lung injury. ⋯ However, the specific mechanism of Serpins is not totally clear. In this article, we will discuss the mechanism of action of NSPs in the inflammatory response of ALI/ARDS, the structural overview of Serpins, the primary role of Serpins in ALI/ARDS, such as the inhibition of NSPs activity, other roles of Serpins in ALI/ARDS, such as the inhibition of inflammatory factor release, regulation of apoptosis and protection of vascular endothelial cells and pulmonary surfactant-associated glycoprotein D (SP-D), and the clinical application of exogenous Serpins in ALI/ARDS to explore the role of Serpins in the pathogenesis of ALI/ARDS. The aim is to provide new ideas and strategies for the clinical treatment of ALI/ARDS.

[Dynamic changes of cellular immune function in trauma patients and its relationship with prognosis].
To study the dynamic changes of cellular immune function in peripheral blood of trauma patients and its role in the evaluation of traumatic complications. ⋯ CD64 index and CD279 expression in neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes are significantly related to the severity and prognosis of trauma. Dynamic monitoring the cellular immune function may be helpful for assessing the prognosis of trauma patients.

[Evaluation of the effects of immunotherapy and mesenchymal stem cells transplantation in the treatment of critically ill coronavirus disease 2019 patients].
To analyze the immunotherapy and clinical characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, and focus on exploring the effects of immunotherapy and mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) transplantation in the critically ill patients' treatment. ⋯ In addition to IFN, gamma globulin, antiserum and MSC transplantation therapy can help clear the virus and reduce inflammation. Although MSC transplantation fail to completely change the immunecompromised state of critically ill patients, it controlled the progression of inflammation in the liver and kidneys.
