[A 180-day mortality predictive score based on frailty syndrome in elderly patients with sepsis: a Logistic regression analysis model].
To establish a 180-day mortality predictive score based on frailty syndrome in elderly sepsis patients [elderly sepsis score (ESS)]. ⋯ CFS, MV, CRRT, and palliative care are independent risk factors of 180-day mortality in elderly patients with sepsis. We established ESS based on these risk factors. The ESS model has good discrimination and can be used as a reference and assessment tool for prediction and treatment guidance in elderly patients with sepsis.

[Serpins as important protective factors in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome].
Acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) is a common respiratory disease in clinic, and with a pathological manifestation of pulmonary edema, decreased pulmonary compliance as well as pulmonary epithelial/endothelial cells injury. At present, it was suggested that systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) caused by various causes which play an important role in the occurrence and development of ALI/ARDS. Widely activated neutrophils can migrate to lung tissue and release plenty of proteases in the procedure of SIRS, including neutrophil serine proteases (NSPs), lysozyme, myeloperoxidase and collagenase, which can induce severe lung injury. ⋯ However, the specific mechanism of Serpins is not totally clear. In this article, we will discuss the mechanism of action of NSPs in the inflammatory response of ALI/ARDS, the structural overview of Serpins, the primary role of Serpins in ALI/ARDS, such as the inhibition of NSPs activity, other roles of Serpins in ALI/ARDS, such as the inhibition of inflammatory factor release, regulation of apoptosis and protection of vascular endothelial cells and pulmonary surfactant-associated glycoprotein D (SP-D), and the clinical application of exogenous Serpins in ALI/ARDS to explore the role of Serpins in the pathogenesis of ALI/ARDS. The aim is to provide new ideas and strategies for the clinical treatment of ALI/ARDS.

[Comparison of efficacy between veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) and VV-ECMO combined with prone position ventilation for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To observe the effects of veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) combined with prone position ventilation (PPV) on oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2), respiratory compliance (Crs) and vasoactive inotropic score (VIS) in severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. ⋯ The combination of PPV during VV-ECMO could further increase PaO2/FiO2, improve hypoxemia and implement further protective lung ventilation to reduce the potential hazards during mechanical ventilation. In addition, no serious adverse events were observed in this study, suggesting PPV is safe during VV-ECMO.

[Continuous prone position ventilation in patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome at high altitude].
To investigate the therapeutic effect of different prone position ventilation (PPV) on patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) at high altitude. ⋯ Continuous PPV is more effective than discontinuous PPV in the treatment of severe ARDS patients at high altitude, and the related complications are did not increased in prolonged time of PPV.

[Dynamic changes of cellular immune function in trauma patients and its relationship with prognosis].
To study the dynamic changes of cellular immune function in peripheral blood of trauma patients and its role in the evaluation of traumatic complications. ⋯ CD64 index and CD279 expression in neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes are significantly related to the severity and prognosis of trauma. Dynamic monitoring the cellular immune function may be helpful for assessing the prognosis of trauma patients.
