Observational Study[Correlation factor analysis on constipation in long-term ventilated patients in intensive care unit: a prospective observational cohort study].
To explore the factors associated with delayed defecation in long-term ventilated patients in intensive care unit (ICU) and their potential effect on prognosis. ⋯ PaO2/FiO2 < 150 mmHg and systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg during the first 5 days of MV were independently associated with a delay in defecation in patients undergoing long-term MV. The results suggest that constipation is associated with adverse outcomes in long-term ventilated patients.

Meta Analysis[Statin in the treatment of ALI/ARDS: a systematic review and Meta-analysis based on international databases].
To confirm the effects of statin therapy on mortality of patients with acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS). ⋯ The systematic review and meta-analysis suggests that statin may not be associated with a significant reduction in mortality, ventilator-free day, ICU-free day and ICU length of stay in patients with ALI/ARDS.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of bronchoalveolar lavage with fiberoptic bronchoscopy combined with vibration sputum drainage on mechanically ventilated patients with severe pneumonia: a prospective randomized controlled trial in 286 patients].
To investigate the curative effect of bronchoalveolar lavage with fiberoptic bronchoscopy combined with vibration sputum drainage in the treatment of severe pneumonia patients undergoing mechanical ventilation (MV). ⋯ Compared with bronchoalveolar lavage with fiberoptic bronchoscopy alone, the treatment of bronchoalveolar lavage combined with vibration sputum drainage is more effective in sputum excretion for severe pneumonia patients undergoing MV, which could improve the respiratory function, reduce infection, shorten the duration of MV and the length of ICU stay, and improve the recovery.

[Value of procalcitonin on predicting the severity and prognosis in patients with early ARDS: a prospective observation study].
To investigate the value of procalcitonin (PCT) on predicting the severity and prognosis in patients with early acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ The elevated serum PCT level in patients with ARDS seems to be correlated well with the severity of lung injury, and appears to be a useful prognostic marker of outcome in the early phases of ARDS.

[Evaluation value of oxygenation index of mechanical ventilation on the prognosis of patients with ARDS: a retrospective analysis with 228 patients].
To investigate the evaluation value of oxygenation index at different times of mechanical ventilation (MV) on the prognosis of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ The oxygenation index after the early stage of RM can preliminarily determine the prognosis of patients. The predictive value of oxygenation index after MV for 28-day survival of ARDS patients was higher, so the oxygenation index measured at 6 hours of MV may be considered to evaluate the prognosis of patients with ARDS.
