Meta Analysis[The effects of high frequency oscillation ventilation on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome: a Meta-analysis and sequential analysis of trial].
To evaluate the effect of high frequency oscillation ventilation (HFOV) vs. conventional mechanical ventilation (CV) on the treatment and prognosis of adult patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Compared with CV, the use of HFOV in ARDS was not associated with a significant reduction in mortality. But the physiologic parameters of patients in HFOV group were better than those in the CV group. More RCTs are needed to draw a definitive conclusion.

Meta Analysis[The efficacy of hypertonic saline treatment in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in animal model with cardiac arrest: a Meta-analysis].
To evaluate the efficacy of hypertonic saline (HS) treatment in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in animal models of cardiac arrest (CA). ⋯ This systematic review indicates that HS infusion is followed by an improved ROSC rate, serum sodium concentration during CPR, and MAP at 90 minutes after ROSC in animal models of CA.

Review Meta Analysis[Erythromycin for improving enteral nutrition tolerance in adult critical patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis].
To systematically review the efficacy and safety of erythromycin on enteral nutrition (EN) tolerance in adult critical care patients. ⋯ Postpyloric EN tube placement rate can be improved by erythromycin, which could be a choice of substitute for bedside intubation without fluoroscopy or endoscopic assistance. Based on the evidence, we recommended that intravenous erythromycin in a small dose of approximately 3 mg/kg weight as an option for EN intolerance in critical patients.

Meta Analysis[The influence of hypernatremia on mortality in intensive care unit patients: a meta-analysis].
To evaluate the incidence of hypernatremia and its influence on mortality in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. ⋯ Hypernatremia could obviously raise the mortality rate in ICU patients, and it was an independent risk factor for critically ill patients.

Review Meta Analysis[The effect of ω-3 fatty acid supplementation in parenteral nutrition on the outcome of patients with sepsis: a systematic review and meta-analysis].
To determine whether the supplementation of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in parenteral nutrition (PN) confers treatment benefits to outcomes of septic patients. ⋯ Meta-analysis results demonstrated that PN supplemented with ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids was beneficial in improving the outcomes of patients with sepsis. However, this conclusion must be interpreted with caution due to the low quality of the enrolled trials.
