[Study of the effects on the heart function when different positive end expiratory pressure levels were used on patients treated with mechanical ventilation].
To study the effects on the hemodynamics and the heart function when different positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) levels were used on patients treated with mechanical ventilation. ⋯ Under the condition of mechanical ventilation, when the lung volume was relatively constant, change in PEEP levels (0-13 cm H(2)O) had no obvious effects on the normal cardiac function group, but can significantly decrease right ventricular preload, PCBF and left ventricular preload. Optimal PEEP may improve the cardiac function. The change in the airway pressure is not consistent with the changes in cardiac function.

To analyze risk factors in patients receiving mechanical ventilation in intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ The time of tracheostomy, the levels of HCT value, the amount of PLT were independent risk factors associated with patients requiring LTMV.

[Application of the bispectral index monitor in mechanical ventilation in patients under sedation in the intensive care unit].
To evaluate bispectral index (BIS) technology in post-operative patients under sedation undergoing mechanical ventilation according to Ramsay sedation scales in intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ BIS measurements evaluated in clinically relevant ranges compare favorably with Ramsay scale. BIS may be best used to identify and prevent over or under sedation of mechanical ventilated patients in the ICU.

[Effects of mechanical ventilation on the expression of Toll like receptor 4 in rat's alveolar macrophages].
To investigate the effects of mechanical ventilation on Toll like receptor 4 (TLR4) in rat's alveolar macrophages (AM). ⋯ Large V(T) mechanical ventilation induced injury of lungs and up-regulated TLR4 expression in rat's AM. Small V(T) mechanical ventilation avoided above-mentioned changes.
