Randomized Controlled Trial[The DNA binding activity of nuclear factor-ΚB in patients with severe pneumonia and the intervention effects of Xuebijing injection].
To investigate the role of nuclear factor-ΚB (NF-ΚB) in severe pneumonia and observe the effects of Xuebijing injection in its treatment. ⋯ NF-ΚB activation and coagulopathy were observed in patients with severe pneumonia, and NF-ΚB was involved in the process of inflammatory response. Inflammatory response was partly alleviated by Xuebijing injection. These effects of Xuebijing injection may be mediated by inhibition of the activation of NF-ΚB and its anticoagulation property.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study[The effect of early goal-directed therapy on treatment of critical patients with severe sepsis/septic shock: a multi-center, prospective, randomized, controlled study].
To investigate the effect of early goal-directed therapy (EGDT) on treatment of critical patients with severe sepsis/septic shock. ⋯ EGDT improves 28-day survival rate and clinical scores, and it shows beneficial effects on outcome of critical patients with severe sepsis/septic shock.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Study of erythromycin and metoclopramide in treatment of feeding intolerance of critically ill patients in intensive care unit].
To compare the effect of erythromycin and metoclopramide on feeding intolerance of critically ill patients in intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ Low dose of erythromycin could improve the successful rate of feeding in critically ill patients in ICU. The combined administration of erythromycin and metoclopramide was more effective. Its side effect was minimal.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of different doses of ulinastatin on inflammatory response and pulmonary function after cardiopulmonary bypass].
To evaluate the effect of ulinastatin (UTI) on the changes in inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory response as a result of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in cardiac valvular replacement surgery and to investigate the protective effect of UTI on lungs. ⋯ During the CPB, UTI can significantly inhibit the inflammatory cytokine release and reduce the inflammatory response, lessen the lung inflammatory response to CPB and protect lung function, the effect of UTI shows a dose-effect relationship.
