[Obesity hypoventilation syndrome and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome: is there an association?].
Severe obesity sometimes leads to a chronic alveolar hypoventilation: obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS), (Pao2<70mmHG, Paco2>45mmHG and body mass index (BMI)>30Kg/m2). The association with an OSAS is frequent. ⋯ The alveolar hypoventilation in SAS seems to be in correlation with the degree of obesity. The hypercapnie in the OHS is in relation neither with the SAOS nor with its severity. The OHSSAS association is usual but not synonym; the OHS is an autonomous disease.

The management of the older constituted a problematic that will be more attractive in the future because of the population's advanced age. ⋯ The older over than 75 years had many pathologies that is why the prognostic of the chest arrest was very bad (mortality 100%), the gravity of the chest arrest was seen on this study so we must take seriously all the pathology presented by the older, multiplied the medical consultations to detect the complications earlier and to improve the life's quality.

The clinical course of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterised by a succession of relapses and remissions. A regular and a long term monitoring of such patients is required. Faecal markers, especially calprotectin's use, seem to be useful in these patients. Faecal calprotectin is a reliable maker of intestinal inflammation in IBD. Its level is assessed by a simple and a non invasive test. ⋯ Mucosal healing assessment after anti-TNF treatment can also be an interesting indication although it isn't well evaluated.
