Randomized Controlled TrialNarrow band imaging versus lugol chromoendoscopy in screening for esophageal squamous neoplasia: a randomized trial.
To date, there is no established optimal method for endoscopic detection of esophageal squamous cell neoplasia in high‑risk individuals. ⋯ With a PPV comparable to that of Lugol chromoendoscopy, but a lower number of biopsies required, shorter examination time, and better patient tolerance, NBI could be considered the primary screening method for ESCC in patients with HNSCC.

ReviewWho may benefit from low-dose Rivaroxaban plus Aspirin? Practical implications for outpatients with cardiovascular disease.
Despite availability of effective preventive therapies based on guidelines, patients with vascular diseases continue to be at a high risk for recurrent ischemic events. Therefore, novel therapeutic strategies are required to further reduce the residual risk present in these patients. Platelet aggregation and fibrin organization are involved in arterial thrombosis. ⋯ Subsequently, the VOYAGER PAD (Vascular Outcomes Study of ASA Along with Rivaroxaban in Endovascular or Surgical Limb Revascularization for PAD) trial confirmed the effectiveness of the vascular dose of rivaroxaban in patients with PAD after lower‑extremity revascularization, as compared with ASA alone. Therefore, DPI is recommended in the patients with CAD (+/- PAD) or symptomatic PAD at a high risk of ischemia. The purpose of this review is to examine the clinical benefits and practical implications of DPI in the CAD and PAD patients.

The prognostic implications of using benzodiazepines (BZD) in heart failure (HF) patients are still unknown. ⋯ The patients medicated with BZD presented a 36% higher risk of dying. BZD should probably be used with caution, particularly in older HF patients and in those with CKD.
