Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Assessment of rehabilitation progress in patients with cervical radicular pain syndrome after application of high intensity laser therapy - HILT and Saunders traction device].
Osteoarthritis of the spine is a major global health problem, it is an epidemic of our times. It affects all parts of the spine, but the hardest to treat is its cervical region. The cervical spine is most mobile, delicate and sensitive to any load. It requires special care in conservative treatment. To date the selection of effective therapeutic approaches has been controversial. ⋯ Both therapeutic methods manifest analgesic effect and a positive impact on the improvement of range of cervical spine movement in patients with radicular pain in this spine region. HILT laser therapy and Saunders traction device reduce neck disability index in the treated patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial[The relationship between testosterone deficiency and metabolic syndrome in obese men].
In aging males testosterone decreases approximately 0,8-1% annually. This physiological process can be intensified in obesity and metabolic syndrome (MS). Progressive testosterone deficiency can exacerbate existing metabolic disorders, leading to a vicious circle. The aim of the study was to assess the frequency of testosterone deficiency syndrome (TDS) and concomitance of TDS and MS in obese male patients. Moreover assessment of correlation between TDS markers (total testosterone - TT, free testosterone - fT, sex-hormone binding globulin - SHBG) and obesity, blood pressure, fasting lipid levels, fasting blood glucose, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), fibrynogen (Fb) was performed. The present study aimed to establish if patients with TDS and MS have more severe metabolic disorders, higher average systolic and diastolic pressure comparing to group with MS without TDS. ⋯ Among obese males aged > or = 39 frequency of TDS is high (47%). Coincidence of MS and TDS was observed in 56% patients. The inverse correlation between body weight and SHBG and TT was noted and positive association between SHBG and age was established in MS(+) group. No statistically significant difference in fasting lipid levels, fasting blood glucose, CRP, Fb, BP was found between MS(+)TDS(+) patients and MS(+)TDS(-). No statistically significant correlation was found between TT fT, SHBG and IIEF-5, AMS score.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Influence of low-molecular-weight heparin on the life quality of patients after intravascular medical procedures in comparison to patients who were treated with oral anticoagulants].
Atherosclerosis is the illness of arteries which causes changes in vessels leading to their narrowing and then to their closure. Men are mainly attacked by illnesses of arteries. There are several factors which can intensify these illnesses such as: diabetes, smoking cigarettes, diet rich in cholesterol, arterial hypertension. Chronic ischemia of lower extremities is the most frequent illness with which patients notify. Patients with long-standing atherosclerotic process are usually afflicted with thrombotic ischemia. The life quality is the term that can have many meanings. It can be treated objectively or subjectively. In the first case we deal with the quality of life and in the second one with the feeling of life quality. Considering the problem we can base on the level of fulfilling the norm or on riches of obtained experience. The term life quality is significantly connected with the process of cognitive assessment of the individual. The quality of life of patients who were subjected to intravascular medical procedures considerably changes. The continuation of surgical treatment is pharmacotherapy which is connected with administering to patients low-molecular-weight heparin or oral antithrombotic medicine. The aim of the study was an evaluation of quality of life of patient after intravascular medical procedures, at which continued treatment was low-molecular-weight heparin and comparison of received results with subjective feeling of quality of life among ill across passing, treated oral anticoagulants medicines. ⋯ Conducted research has shown that the life quality of patients who were treated with low-molecular-weight heparin changed for better in higher degree than patients who were treated with oral antithrombotic medicine.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis].
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is considered the "gold standard" for the planned treatment of symptomatic cholecystolithiasis. Currently this method is used in 88% of cholecystectomy according to world database. There are evidences that laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis is a quite safe method which is not connected with many complications. ⋯ Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a safe method of treatment both acute cholecystitis and chronic cholecystolithiasis.

Randomized Controlled Trial[The effect of 5-days of cetirizine, desloratadine, fexofenadine 120 and 180 mg, levocetirizine, loratadine treatment on the histamine-induced skin reaction and skin blood flow--a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trial].
of this study was to compare the effect of the following antihistamines: cetirizine 10mg, desloratadine 5mg, fexofenadine 120 and 180mg, levocetirizine 5mg, loratadine 10mg, and placebo, administered in the recommended doses over the period of 5 days, on the visually assessed histamine-induced skin reaction, using the Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF). ⋯ Following the end of the treatment, the effect of the antihistamines on skin reaction was subsiding in such an order: after 24 hours in case of loratadine and desloratadine, after two days for both doses of fexofenadine, and 3-4 days for cetirizine and levocetirizine.
