Meta Analysis[Ultrafiltration versus intravenous diuretics in decompensated heart failure: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials].
To explore whether ultrafiltration is superior to intravenous diuretics in ameliorating fluid overload and preserving renal functions in decompensated heart failure patients. ⋯ For decompensated heart failure patients, ultrafiltration is superior to intravenous diuretics in mitigating fluid overload. No intergroup difference was observed in renal function preservation, mortality or rehospitalization.

Meta Analysis[Incidence of pulmonary embolism in patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a meta-analysis].
To evaluate the incidence of pulmonary embolism in patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ There is a high incidence of pulmonary embolism in patients with acute exacerbations of COPD, especially among those of an unknown etiology. More attention should be paid to this population.

Meta Analysis[Meta-analysis of laparoscopic-assisted versus open distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer].
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of laparoscopic-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) for gastric cancer through a meta-analysis of LADG versus open distal gastrectomy(ODG). ⋯ As a safe and practical procedure with less blood loss volume, fewer overall complications and a quicker recovery, LADG may offer satisfactory long-term outcomes comparable to those of conventional open surgery.

Meta Analysis[Whole brain radiation therapy plus temozolomide in the treatment of brain metastases from non small cell lung cancer: a meta-analysis].
To explore the efficacy and safety of whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT) plus temozolomide (TMZ) versus WBRT alone in the treatment of brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) through a meta-analysis. ⋯ For the treatment of brain metastases from NSCLC, the combined therapy of WBRT plus TMZ improves OR, but without significant improvement in OS. And the incidence of myelosuppression is elevated. Future large-scale, high-quality and prospective phase III RCTs are needed to confirm the clinical efficacy and safety of WBRT plus TMZ.

Meta Analysis[Meta-analysis of mild hypothermia for gestational age over 35-week newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy].
To determine the effects of therapeutic hypothermia (TH) in encephalopathic asphyxiated newborn infants on mortality, long-term neurodevelopmental disability and side effects by summarizing the data of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE) newborns undergoing mild hypothermia using meta-analysis. ⋯ Mild hypothermia is effective in reducing death and major disabilities in infants with moderate-to-severe HIE without significant side effects. Infants presenting within the first hours after birth with the signs and symptoms of moderate-to-severe encephalopathy should be cooled in accordance with the established protocols of previous randomized controlled trials.
