Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of metoprolol on perioperative cardiovascular events in patients with risk or at high risk for coronary artery disease undergoing non-cardiac surgery].
To assess the effects of metoprolol on perioperative cardiovascular events in patients with risk or at high risk for coronary artery disease (CAD) who were to undergo non-cardiac surgery. ⋯ Metoprolol reduces the incidence of postoperative severe cardiovascular episodes in patients with risk of or at high risk for CAD undergoing non-cardiac surgery.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of different doses and concentrations of ropivacaine in axillary brachial plexus block].
To evaluate clinic pharmacodynamics of ropivacaine hydrochloride, a new long-acting amide type local anaesthetic, in Chinese patients undergoing neurolysis and tendolysis of forearm through axillary brachial plexus block. ⋯ Sensory and motor never can be blocked perfectly when the dose of ropivacaine is between 1.5 mg/kg and 2.0 mg/kg and the concentration is between 0.30%-0.35%. When the doses of ropivacaine is 1.25 mg/kg and the concentration is 0.20%-0.25% the starting and consummating time are longer and persisting time is shorter. When the doses of ropivacaine is 1.00 mg/kg and the concentration is 0.15%-0.20% the starting and consummating time are longer and only satisfies external debridement and suture without tourniquets.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of bilateral intercostal nerve protection on post-thoracotomy pain relief: a prospective single-blinded randomized study].
To study the efficacy of bilateral intercostal nerve protection on pain relief after thoracotomy. ⋯ Protection of bilateral intercostal nerves around the incision contributes to significant pain relief after operation without increase of the morbidity of complications.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of epidural clonidine pretreatment in epidural patient-controlled analgesia using sufentanil combined with levobupivacaine].
To investigate the clinical effects of epidural clonidine pretreatment in epidural patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) using sufentanil combined with levobupivacaine. ⋯ Epidural clonidine 2-4 microg/kg pretreatment improves the clinical effects of epidural PCA using sufentanil combined with levobupivacaine.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of target-controlled infusion sufentanil in different doses combined with nitrogen monoxide inhalation on hemodynamics and postoperative recovery].
To investigate the effect of target-controlled infusion sufentanil in different doses combined with inhalation anesthesia at 0.9 minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) on the intraoperative hemodynamics and postoperative recovery of spontaneous breathing. ⋯ When the concentration of inhalation anesthetic is at 0.9 MAC, the target plasma sufentanil concentration of 0.3 ng/ml is adequate in anesthesia. If sufentanil infusion was terminated 50 min before the end of surgery, the patients can recover safely and quickly.
