To investigate the protective effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on rats with ulcerative colitis (UC) and its effect on the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway. ⋯ Electroacupuncture exerts a protective effect on the colonic mucosa in rats with UC possibly by inhibiting the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway and reducing the release of inflammatory cytokines, and high-intensity EA may have a better effect than low-intensity EA.

Meta Analysis
[Systematic review and sequential analysis on treatment of herpes zoster pain mainly by fire needle therapy].
To assess the therapeutic effect and safety of fire needle therapy in the treatment of herpes zoster pain. ⋯ In the treatment of herpes zoster pain, fire needle as the main treatment approach can significantly relieve pain, shorten the pain duration, and reduce the incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia.

Randomized Controlled Trial
[Effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation on pulmonary function and oxidative stress response in lower extremity surgery patients using tourniquet].
To investigate the effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on pulmonary function, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in patients using tourniquet after lower extremity surgery. ⋯ TEAS at ST36 and SP6 can improve pulmonary function and attenuate oxidative stress response in patients using tourniquet after lower extremity surgery.

To explore the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at "Zusanli" (ST36) on gastrointestinal motility and expression of autophagy marker LC3 and autophagy signaling pathway molecule AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in rats with functional dyspepsia (FD), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of FD. ⋯ EA at ST36 can promote gastrointestinal motility in FD rats, which is possibly mediated by inhibiting excessive autophagy of interstitial cells of Cajal via down-regulating AMPK/ULK1 signaling.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
[Comparison of therapeutic effect of soft-tissue relaxing needling and electroacupuncture for knee osteoarthritis].
To compare the clinical efficacy of soft-tissue relaxing needling and electroacupuncture (EA) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), so as to explore a new and more effective therapy for KOA. ⋯ Both relaxing-needling and EA therapies are comparable in the therapeutic effect for KOA, and the former is superior to the latter in reducing the joint pain and improving the knee joint locomotor function, thus being worthy of clinical application.
