ReviewType 1 diabetes and latent autoimmune diabetes in adults.
The review is aimed to explore the clinical and pathogenic spectrum of autoimmune diabetes including Type 1 diabetes and latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA). Genetic susceptibility modifies age at onset in autoimmune diabetes. The most important genetic susceptibility to Type 1 diabetes and LADA is in the HLA region. ⋯ Non-genetic factors contribute much to Type 1 diabetes, but little is known in LADA. Diabetes-associated immune process can occur in early childhood and can be predictive of an ongoing beta cell destruction. The management and prevention of LADA need to be investigated in order to define the best therapeutic strategy.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Spinal anesthesia with low dose sufentanil-bupivacaine in transurethral resection of the prostate].
To explore the clinical efficacy of intrathecally administered low dose sufentanil-bupivacaine in transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). METHODS. Ninety patient (ASA I - III) undergoing TURP were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 30); Group A, B and C. Group A received 7.5 mg bupivacaine + 5 microg sufentanil + 10% glucose; Group B received 7.5 mg bupivacaine + 7.5 microg sufentanil + 10% glucose; Group C received 15 mg bupivacaine + 10% glucose. The volume was 3 mL in every group. SP, DP, HR, SpO2, the degree of motor and sensory blockade and the side effect were observed. ⋯ Spinal anesthesia with low dose sufentanil-bupivacaine possesses relatively steady hemodynamics. The blockade degree of motor and sensory blockade in this spinal anesthesia is lower than that in standard spinal bupivacaine in TURP.

[Continuous veno-venous hemofiltration treatment for acute hypernatremia].
To investigate the effect of continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVHF) for acute hypernatremia. ⋯ CVVHF is effective and can be a new method for treating acute hypernatremia.

[Bispectral index, cerebral state index and the predicted effect-site concentration at different clinical end-points during target-controlled infusion of propofol].
To examine the predicted effect-site concentration of propofol at two clinical end-points: loss of verbal contact (LVC) and loss of consciousness (LOC), and to explore the relationship between bispectral index (BIS) values, cerebral state index (CSI) values and the predicted effect-site concentration during the target-controlled infusion of propofol. ⋯ During target-controlled infusion of propofol, LVC and LOC occur within a definite range of predicted effect-site concentrations. There is the good linearity between BIS, CSI and the predicted effect-site concentrations of propofol. CSI may be more useful than BIS in predicting LVC and LOC.
