[Application of positron emission tomography in detection of myocardial glucose metabolism in rabbit cardiac arrest models].
To investigate the changes of myocardial glucose metabolism in rabbit cardiac arrest models and the effect of hydrogen intervention by 18F-fluroro-2-deoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. Methods: Fifteen male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into a hydrogen group (n=6), a control group (n=6) and a sham group (n=3). Cardiac arrest (CA) was induced by intravenous injection of potassium chloride. Conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated after five-minutes CA. ⋯ In the hydrogen group and the control group, the 18F-FDG SUVmax at 2 h after ROSC were significantly higher than the basic level (1.89±0.47 vs 3.47±1.24 and 1.90±0.36 vs 4.26±0.80, respectively). Compared with the control group, the 18F-FDG SUVmax in the hydrogen group was lower at the point at 2 h after ROSC. The 18F-FDG SUVmax in the 2 CA group were down to the basic level at 24 h after ROSC (hydrogen group 2.02±0.64, control group 2.07±0.61). Conclusion: Myocardial glucose metabolism in CA rabbits was increased significantly after ROSC, and hydrogen intervention can reduce the degree of glucose metabolism.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Continuous lumbar plexus block reduces the incidence of early postoperative cognitive dysfunction in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty].
To observe the impacts of continuous lumbar plexus block (CLPB) on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty. Methods: Sixty elderly patients scheduled for hip arthroplasty with general anesthesia, were randomly allocated into a CLPB group and a PCIA group (n=30 each). In the CLPB group, lumbar plexus block was performed before trachea intubation, and CLPB was used for postoperative analgesia. In the PCIA group, intravenous analgesia was controlled in patients after operation. ⋯ Postoperative adverse events were recorded. Results: VAS scores at 12, 24, and 48 h after operation in the CLPB group were significantly lower than those in the PCIA group (P<0.05). Compared with the PCIA group, the MMSE scores were significantly higher (P<0.05), and the incidence of POCD at D1 and D3 was obviously reduced in the CLPB group (P<0.05). S-100β concentration at D1 and D3 in the CLPB group was significantly lower than that in the PCIA group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Application of CLPB in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty could obviously relieve their postoperative pain, inhibit the production of S-100β, and reduce the incidence of early postoperative cognitive dysfunction.

Review Case Reports[Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease/pulmonary capillary hemangiomatosis: A case report and literature review].
Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD)/pulmonary capillary hemangiomatosis (PCH) is a rare form of pulmonary vascular disease that causes pulmonary arterial hypertension. The diagnosis of PVOD/PCH can be established by the combination of clinical features, physical examination, radiological findings, lung function, bronchoscopy and other resources. ⋯ A girl with PVOD/PCH was diagnosed in the Second Xiangya Hospital. Combining the characteristics for this case with the relevant literature, we summarized the epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis and treatment for the disease to raise doctors' awareness for this rare disease.

ReviewRadiomics in gliomas: A promising assistance for glioma clinical research.
Gliomas are the most common brain primary tumors worldwide, which is the earliest sequenced cancer gene in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project. The World Health Organization Classification Update of Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumors 2016 highlights that glioma is the first tumor classified based on both of the molecular markers and histology. ⋯ In this review, the radiomic analysis methods applied in gliomas are highlighted. Some remarkable findings confirm the considerable potential of radiomics in clinical cancer research.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Application of radial arterial puncture cannulation under ultrasonic guidance in patients with critical diseases].
To explore the clinicaleffect of radial arterial puncture cannulationunder ultrasonic guidance in patients with critical diseases. Methods: From December 2016 to May 2017, 120 patients under critical conditions in Department ofIntensive Care Unit, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, who received arterial cannulation, were randomly divided into 2 groups: a control group (traditional blind puncture method) and an observation group (ultrasound-guided radial arterial cannulation) (60 cases in each group). The success ratio of radial arterial puncture cannulation by one time, total success ratio of radial arterial puncture cannulation, numbers of puncture, the rate of complications and the time of consumption were compared between the 2 groups. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the total success ratio of radial arterial puncture cannulationin the 2 groups (P>0.05). The success ratio radial arterial puncture cannulation by one time was significantly greater in the observation group than that in the control group (P<0.05); the numbers of puncture, the rate of complications and the time of consumption in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of ultrasound-guided radial arterial puncturecannulation can improve the success ratio of radial arterial puncturecannulation by one time, decrease the numbers of puncture, reduce the incidence of complications and save operation time.
