To evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of unilateral pedicle screw fixation in treating thoracolumbar fractures through paraspinal approach. ⋯ Treatment of thoracolumbar fractures with unilateral pedicle screw fixation through paraspinal approach is safe with the advantages of micro-trauma and less blood loss, which can not only completely retain the posterior spinal complex structure, reinforce the spinal stability, raise the reductional quality, but also improve the strength of fixation and the distribution of stress force.

Bone marrow mesenchymal cells (BMSCs) are regarded as donor cells in cell transplantation therapies for spinal cord injury (SCI) for they have the ability of favourable proliferation and multi-directional differentiation, and are easily isolated and culturd and have less immunological reaction. It has been confirmed that subarachnoid space injection is the most ideal delivery technique of BMSCs. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells transplantation is safe and its reconditioning role is certain for SCI in early clinical application. The mechanism of BMSCs promoting functional recovery after SCI is probably concerned with vicarious function, nerve trophism, immunosuppression and promoting axonal regeneration by BMSCs.

Meta Analysis
[Effectiveness of manual therapy and traction for lumbar disc herniation: a meta-analysis].
To evaluate the effectiveness of manual therapy and traction for lumbar disc herniation and analyze the current status of this kind of randomized clinical trial (RCT). ⋯ The overall quality of the current RCT researches about manual therapy for lumbar disc herniation was lower, and did not support the conclusion that manual therapy was more effective than traction for lumbar disc herniation.

To investigate the safety and efficacy of asymmetrical osteotomy in treating elderly degenerative lumbar kyphoscoliosis. ⋯ Asymmetrical osteotomy can not only correct scoliosis deformity, but also restore lumbar lordosis, and may safely and effectively solve the problem of elderly degenerative lumbar kyphoscoliosis.

To explore the clinical effects of total vertebral column resection combined with anterior mesh cage support in treating severe congenital kyphoscoliosis. ⋯ Total vertebral column resection combined with anterior mesh cage support can effectively correct kyphosis and scoliosis in severe congenital kyphoscoliosis and can avoid injury of spine cord by spinal crispation, but intraoperative position and neurologic complications should still be considered.
