Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyElectroacupuncture Versus Pelvic Floor Muscle Training Plus Solifenacin for Women With Mixed Urinary Incontinence: A Randomized Noninferiority Trial.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture vs pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) plus solifenacin for women with mixed urinary incontinence (MUI). ⋯ In women with moderate to severe MUI, electroacupuncture was not inferior to PFMT-solifenacin in decreasing the 72-hour IEF and shows promise as an effective alternative for the treatment of MUI.

ReviewReconciling Opportunistic and Population Screening in Clinical Genomics.
Opportunistic genomic screening is becoming increasingly common as laboratories adopt recommendations to report secondary genomic findings. In parallel, interest in using genome sequencing as a population screening test has grown rapidly. We consider here 3 potential applications of genome sequencing for preventive medicine: (1) provider-ordered predispositional testing in healthy adults, (2) indication-based testing with opportunistic screening of secondary results, and (3) population screening in the public health context. ⋯ Recommendations to report secondary genomic findings should not be interpreted as an endorsement of population genomic screening. Ongoing work is developing the evidence that will be needed to fully justify current and future initiatives in population genomic screening. Multicenter StudySocioeconomic Status, Race/Ethnicity, and Health Disparities in Children and Adolescents in a Mixed Rural-Urban Community-Olmsted County, Minnesota.
To characterize disparities in childhood health outcomes by socioeconomic status (SES) and race/ethnicity in a mixed rural-urban US community. ⋯ Significant health disparities are present in a predominantly affluent, non-Hispanic white, mixed rural-urban community. Socioeconomic status modifies disparities by race/ethnicity in clinically less overt conditions. Interpretation of future health disparity research should account for the nature of disease.

Postmarketing Safety-Related Modifications of Drugs Approved by the US Food and Drug Administration Between 1999 and 2014 Without Randomized Controlled Trials.
To investigate whether US Food and Drug Administration approval of new drugs without randomization or an active drug comparator is associated with more postmarketing safety-related label modifications. ⋯ Food and Drug Administration approval of new drugs without supporting RCTs is associated with more postmarketing safety-related label modifications than drugs approved with supporting RCTs. Robust postmarketing studies are required for drugs approved without supporting RCTs. Health care professionals should be vigilant for unrecognized adverse effects when prescribing these drugs.
