Herein we present a 25-year-old female patient who was admitted with recurrent hemoptysis in menstrual period. At the thorax computed tomography taken during menstruation of patient, diffuse ground glass density and acinar nodules at superior segment of lower lobe at left lung were detected. ⋯ Therefore, patient was considered catamenial hemoptysis with clinical and radiological findings. Pulmonary endometriosis is rarely seen disease of the lung, so we are presenting it in the light of the literature knowledge.

Review[Bronchial thermoplasty; a new treatment modality in asthma].
Bronchial thermoplasty is a non-drug treatment modality for moderate-to-severe asthma that involves the delivery of radio frequency energy to the airway wall in a precisely controlled manner to reduce excessive airway smooth muscle. Bronchial thermoplasty is performed under conscious sedation and completed in three bronchoscopy sessions, each lasting less than one hour, and each spaced apart by about three weeks. ⋯ Adequate patient management is important for patient comfort and safety. In this review, we aim to discuss clinical studies , the evidence for the efficacy of bronchial thermoplasty, the importance of careful patient selection, patient preparation, patient management, procedure.

Wells score and Pulmonary Embolism Rule Out Criteria in preventing over investigation of pulmonary embolism in emergency departments.
Unnecessary diagnostic tests are usually ordered to most of the patients with dyspnea or pleuritic chest pain, because of the worse outcomes of missed diagnosis of pulmonary embolism (PE). To identify rates and causes of over investigation for PE and to search whether it was possible to reduce this over investigation by using Wells score and Pulmonary Embolism Rule Out Criteria (PERC). ⋯ Over investigation of PE in emergency departments still remains as an important problem. In order to prevent this, the clinical prediction rules must be developed further and their use in combination should be searched in future studies.

The risk factors for late failure of non-invasive mechanical ventilation in acute hypercapnic respiratory failure.
Non-invasive mechanical ventilation provides early improvement in most of the patients with acute hypercapnic respiratory failure. The aim of our study was to determine the risk factors for late failure of non-invasive mechanical ventilation in patients with acute hypercapnic respiratory failure. ⋯ The pretreatment high APACHE II Score and C-reactive protein level, low Glasgow Coma Score, albumin level, cough strength, bad compliance to non-invasive mechanical ventilation, the presence of bronchiectasis and pneumonia and absence of significance improvement in PaO2/FiO2 after treatment were determined as risk factors for non-invasive mechanical ventilation late failure.

Place of vibration response imaging in preoperative lung cancer patients.
In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of the vibration response imaging (VRI) as the second-line test in preoperative evaluation of the patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and in prediction of the predicted postoperative forced expiratory volume in one second (ppo FEV1). ⋯ VRIxp has a high-accuracy rate in prediction postoperative FEV1. It is seemed as an alternative to quantitative perfusion scintigraphy for preoperative evaluation, because it can be easily applied at the bedside as a radiation free and non-invasive method.
