Observational StudyInfluence of age in the duration of the stay and mortality of patients who remain in an Intensive Care Unit for a prolonged time.
The true role of the age in the prognosis of patients admitted in the ICU is not known. This work analyzes the influence of age on the duration of the stay and mortality of patients who remain in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a long period of time. ⋯ No differences were found in stay based on age, although a difference was found in mortality.

The Computer Book of the Internal Medicine Resident: competence acquisition and achievement of learning objectives.
The Computer Book of the Internal Medicine resident (CBIMR) is a computer program that was validated to analyze the acquisition of competences in teams of Internal Medicine residents. ⋯ Potentially modifiable variables related with the operation of clinical services had a significant impact on the acquisition of clinical and communication skills, the achievement of educational goals, and resident satisfaction during the specialized training in Internal Medicine.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyAdaptation of the Palliative Prognostic Index in patients with advanced medical conditions.
To analyze the accuracy of the Palliative Prognostic Index (PPI) in patients with advanced medical diseases and to recalibrate it in order to adapt it to the profile of these patients. ⋯ PPI can be a useful tool in predicting 6-month survival of patients with advanced medical conditions.
