Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparison of Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy and Open Radical Prostatectomy Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
To systematically update evidence on the clinical efficacy and safety of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) versus retropubic radical prostatectomy (RRP) in patients with prostate cancer. ⋯ RARP might be favorable to RRP in regards to post-operative complications, peri-operative outcomes, and functional outcomes. Positive margin and BCR rates were comparable between the two procedures. As most of studies were of low quality, the results presented should be interpreted with caution, and further high quality studies controlling for selection, confounding, and selective reporting biases with longer-term follow-up are needed to determine the clinical efficacy and safety of RARP.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyStandard versus Rotation Technique for Insertion of Supraglottic Airway Devices: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Supraglottic airway devices have been widely utilized as an alternative to tracheal intubation in various clinical situations. The rotation technique has been proposed to improve the insertion success rate of supraglottic airways. However, the clinical efficacy of this technique remains uncertain as previous results have been inconsistent, depending on the variable evaluated. ⋯ The rotation technique provided higher first-attempt and overall success rates, faster insertion, and a lower incidence of blood on the removed device, reflecting less mucosal trauma. Thus, it may be considered as an alternative to the standard technique when predicting or encountering difficulty in inserting supraglottic airways.

Meta AnalysisAldehyde Dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) Polymorphism and the Risk of Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis among East Asians: A Meta-Analysis.
The aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) gene has been implicated in the development of alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC) in East Asians. However, the results are inconsistent. In this study, a meta-analysis was performed to assess the associations between the ALDH2 polymorphism and the risk of ALC. ⋯ The pooled evidence suggests that ALDH2 polymorphism may be an important protective factor for ALC in East Asians.

Meta AnalysisAssociation between Toll-Like Receptor 9-1237T/C Polymorphism and the Susceptibility of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: A Meta-Analysis.
The -1237T/C polymorphism of the Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) gene has been implicated in the susceptibility of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), but the results remain conflicting. We further investigated this association via meta-analysis. ⋯ The present study suggested that the TLR9 -1237T/C polymorphism might act as a risk factor in the development of IBDs, particularly in Caucasians.

Meta AnalysisIL-10 Polymorphisms and Tuberculosis Susceptibility: An Updated Meta-Analysis.
The association of interleukin-10 (IL-10) polymorphisms (-1082G/A, -819C/T, -592A/C) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) poly-morphisms (-174G/C) with tuberculosis (TB) risk has been widely reported. However, the results are controversial. To clarify the role of these polymorphisms in TB, we performed a meta-analysis of all available and relevant published studies. ⋯ The results suggested that the IL-10 -1082G/A polymorphism is associated with increased TB risk in Europeans, while IL-10 -819C/T and IL-10 -592A/C polymorphisms in Asians. However, IL-6 -174G/C polymorphism might be a genetic risk factor that decreases TB susceptibility in Asians.
