Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyVirtual Reality-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Major Depressive Disorder: An Alternative to Pharmacotherapy for Reducing Suicidality.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has long been recognized as an effective treatment for depression and suicidality. Virtual reality (VR) technology is widely used for cognitive training for conditions such as anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, but little research has considered VR-based CBT for depressive symptoms and suicidality. We tested the effectiveness and safety of a VR-based CBT program for depressive disorders. ⋯ VR CBT treatment for major depressive disorder has the potential to be equivalent to the gold-standard pharmacotherapy in reducing depressive symptoms, suicidality, and related clinical symptoms, with no difference in improvement found in this study. Thus, VR-based CBT might be an effective alternative to pharmacotherapy for depressive disorders.

Multicenter StudyDevelopment and Assessment of a Novel Ulcerative Colitis-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire: A Prospective, Multi-Institutional Study.
Interest in the quality of life (QoL) of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has recently increased. Although measurement tools have been devised for IBD in general, there is no specific tool for measuring the QoL of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). Therefore, we developed a QoL questionnaire specifically for patients with UC. ⋯ The newly developed K-UCSQ is concise, bathroom problem-emphasizing, and UC-specific, suggesting that it could be a valid and reliable UC-specific instrument for QoL measurement.

Multicenter StudyDevelopment and Multicenter, Multiprotocol Validation of Neural Network for Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery Detection.
This study aimed to develop and validate a convolutional neural network (CNN) that automatically detects an aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) on preoperative computed tomography (CT) for thyroid cancer evaluation. ⋯ We developed a CNN-based deep learning model that detects ARSA using CT. Our model showed high performance in the multicenter validation.

Multicenter StudyOptimal Treatment Approaches to Intestinal Behçet's Disease Complicated by Myelodysplastic Syndrome: The KASID and KSBD Multicenter Study.
Studies on intestinal Behçet's disease (BD) complicated by myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) are rare, and no established therapeutic guidelines exist. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical presentation and outcomes of patients with intestinal BD complicated by MDS (intestinal BD-MDS) and suggest a treatment strategy. ⋯ Patients with intestinal BD-MDS frequently have refractory diseases with high mortalities. HSCT can be an effective treatment modality for medically refractory patients with intestinal BD-MDS.

Multicenter StudySevere Systemic Reactions Following Bee Sting Injuries in Korea.
Most bee sting injuries are benign, although sometimes they can result in life threatening outcomes, such as anaphylaxis and death. The purpose of this study was to investigate the epidemiologic status of bee sting injuries in Korea and to identify risk factors associated with severe systemic reactions (SSRs). ⋯ Our findings emphasize the need for implementing safety policies and education on bee sting-related incidents to protect high-risk groups.
