Vascular Uptake on 18F-FDG PET/CT During the Clinically Inactive State of Takayasu Arteritis Is Associated with a Higher Risk of Relapse.
To evaluate whether vascular uptake on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) during the clinically inactive state of Takayasu arteritis (TAK) is associated with disease relapse. ⋯ Vascular uptake on 18F-FDG PET/CT and the presence of NIH criterion 2 are associated with future relapse in patients with clinically inactive TAK.

Randomized Controlled TrialNew Scoring System for Predicting Mortality in Patients with COVID-19.
We aimed to develop a novel mortality scoring system for inpatients with COVID-19 based on simple demographic factors and laboratory findings. ⋯ We developed a new scoring system for quickly and easily predicting COVID-19 mortality using simple predictors. This scoring system can help physicians provide the proper therapy and strategy for each patient.

Association between Albumin, Total Bilirubin, and Uric Acid Serum Levels and the Risk of Cancer: A Prospective Study in a Korean Population.
In this prospective study, we evaluated the association between the serum levels of antioxidants uric acid (UA), albumin, and total bilirubin and the risk of cancer in a Korean population. ⋯ The findings of this study support the role of antioxidants in carcinogenesis. Future large-cohort studies are needed to confirm the predictive value of albumin, UA, and total bilirubin levels in each type of cancer.

Case ReportsParsonage-Turner Syndrome Following Typhoid Vaccination.
Parsonage-Turner syndrome is a rare neurological disease of varying etiology characterized by severe shoulder pain, muscle weakness, and atrophy. Mechanisms are unclear, but are thought to be genetic and immune-mediated reactions. Rarely, Parsonage-Turner syndrome occurs as a side effect of vaccination. ⋯ Intravenous immunoglobulin was administered for improvement of neurologic symptoms. This case suggests that Parsonage-Turner syndrome should be considered as a side effect of vaccination. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of Parsonage-Turner syndrome following vaccination in Korea.

Adverse Impact of Intraoperative Conversion on the Postoperative Course Following Laparoscopic Pancreaticoduodenectomy.
The aim of the current study was to evaluate the adverse clinical impact of intraoperative conversion during laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD). ⋯ Intraoperative conversion during LPD can have an adverse clinical impact on the postoperative course following LPD. Appropriate patients selection and improvement of surgical techniques will be crucial for unnecessary intraoperative conversion and safe LPD.
