ReviewFournier's Gangrene: Literature Review and Clinical Cases.
Fornier gangrene is an extremely rare disease of the genitals. This disease is a result of the urogenital tract, anorectal area, and genital skin infections, appearing usually in immunocompromised patients with diabetes, obesity, and malignant neoplasms. The basic treatment of Fournier gangrene includes an emergency surgical intervention combined with antibiotic therapy and detoxification. ⋯ The etiology, pathogenesis, clinical and laboratory presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of Fournier gangrene are described in this article. The authors have described several clinical cases of patients with Fournier gangrene and with necrotic cellulitis and fasciomyositis of anterior abdominal wall, which is a manifestation of Fournier gangrene. Making allowance for the unfavorable epidemiological situation of syphilis in Russia, the increase in the incidence of complicated, atypical chancre, and therefore, the need for differentiation of Fournier gangrene with such manifestations of syphilis as necrotizing, esthiomenous chancre, indurative edema, the appropriate clinical examples are well explained in this article.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparison of YAG Laser Lithotripsy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy in Treatment of Ureteral Calculi: A Meta-Analysis.
To evaluate the clinical efficiency and safety of ureteroscopy lithotripsy (URSL) with holmium laser technology and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) on ureteral calculi using systematic reviews. ⋯ Although both URSL and ESWL have its own advantages and drawbacks, URSL is relatively a more efficient and safe method to treat ureteric stones, since it has shorter operation time and a better stone-free rate.

Comparative StudyCombination of Androgen Deprivation Therapy and Salvage Radiotherapy versus Salvage Radiotherapy Alone for Recurrent Prostate Cancer after Radical Prostatectomy.
To assess the value of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) on salvage radiotherapy (RT) in post-prostatectomy recurrent prostate cancer patients, we compared the oncologic outcomes between patients receiving RT + ADT and those receiving RT alone. ⋯ RT + ADT reduced the risk of biochemical progression after salvage treatment in patients with seminal vesicle invasion or presalvage PSA ≥0.6 ng/mL, but had no effect in patients with seminal vesicle noninvasive disease and presalvage PSA <0.6 ng/mL.

Case ReportsThree Unusual Cases of Nutcracker Syndrome Caused by Increased Blood Flow within the Left Renal Vein.
Nutcracker syndrome (NCS) refers to the compression of the left renal vein (LRV) between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. It can cause both microscopic and gross haematuria, with or without flank pain. ⋯ On the other hand, the use of CT in routine abdominal explorations has increased the detection of the compression of the LRV in healthy and asymptomatic patients, but its diagnostic value remains uncertain. In this paper, we report 3 cases of the NCS associated with an increased blood flow in the LRV, due to different conditions, which we believe could produce the appearance of clinical symptoms.

Randomized Controlled TrialA New Approach to the Treatment of Uncomplicated Cystitis: Results of a Randomized Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.
To assess the efficacy and safety of a new medical device (MD; a capsule whose main component is a cross-linked protein) in the prevention of uncomplicated cystitis recurrences. ⋯ The new MD can help prevent the recurrence of uncomplicated cystitis as well as help to reduce antibiotic use in management of urinary tract infection in women.
