Review Meta AnalysisRisk Factors for Anemia in Patients with Chronic Renal Failure: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease presents significant impacts on patients, the health-care system and financial resources. There is a significant variation in the primary studies on risk factors of anemia in this patient population across the globe. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the risk factors of anemia among chronic kidney disease patients at the global level. ⋯ Female sex, stage 5 CKD, body mass index ≥ 30 kg/m2, comorbidity, and hypocalcemia were found to be significantly associated with anemia of chronic kidney disease. Therefore, situation-based interventions and country context-specific preventive strategies should be developed to reduce the risk factors of anemia in patients with chronic renal failure.

Evaluation of the Inter and Intra-Observer Reliability of the AO Classification of Intertrochanteric Fractures and the Device Choice (DHS, PFNA, and DCS) of Fixations.
ArbeitsgemeinschaftfürOsteosynthesefragen (AO) classification is the most frequently used tool to classify intertrochanteric fractures. However, there is limited evidence regarding its reliability. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate inter-observer and intra-observer reliability of the AO-2018 intertrochanteric fracture classification. ⋯ The AO classification does not show adequate and acceptable inter-observer and intra-observer reliability and reproducibility. Therefore, it will be hard to base on the AO classification for treatment protocols.

Assessment of Magnitude and Associated Factors of Emergence Delirium in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Tikur Anbesa Specialized Hospital, Ethiopia.
Emergence delirium (ED) is known as an acute agitation and confusion occurring during or immediately following emergence from general anesthesia, in the Operation Room or post anesthesia care unit (PACU). ED results in significant morbidity and complications resulting in longer hospital stays. We studied the magnitude and risk factors of ED in the general surgical population. ⋯ The magnitude of emergence delirium is high and it is associated with older age, substance abuse, premedication with benzodiazepine, excessive blood loss postoperative pain and longer PACU stay.
