Magnetic resonance elastography can monitor changes in medullary stiffness in response to treatment in the swine ischemic kidney.
Low-energy shockwave (SW) therapy attenuates damage in the stenotic kidney (STK) caused by atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS). We hypothesized that magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) would detect attenuation of fibrosis following SW in unilateral ARAS kidneys. ⋯ MRE might be a tool for noninvasive monitoring of medullary fibrosis in response to treatment in kidney disease.

Accelerated whole brain intracranial vessel wall imaging using black blood fast spin echo with compressed sensing (CS-SPACE).
Develop and optimize an accelerated, high-resolution (0.5 mm isotropic) 3D black blood MRI technique to reduce scan time for whole-brain intracranial vessel wall imaging. ⋯ In the evaluation of intracranial vascular disease, CS-SPACE provides a substantial reduction in scan time compared to conventional T1-weighted SPACE while maintaining good image quality.
