Pathologic femur fractures following surgery and radiotherapy for soft tissue sarcomas: A case series.
Combined limb-sparing surgery and radiation therapy are considered the standard of care for higher grade soft tissue sarcomas (STS) of the extremities. The risk of post-radiation fracture after this treatment modality is well known, but still underestimated, and can end in serious long-term secondary problems years later. ⋯ The risk of pathological fractures at the former treatment site is high, even years later. The rate of non-unions after a difficult fracture treatment in this particular clinical situation seems to be very high and may be associated with severe complications.

Case ReportsA case report of foreign body appendicitis caused by tongue piercing ingestion.
Foreign body ingestion is an uncommon clinical problem in healthy adults. Furthermore, it is even less common for an ingested foreign body to cause any obstructive symptoms within the gastrointestinal tract. ⋯ In patients with appendicitis secondary to foreign body ingestion, we suggest surgical management to reduce the risk of peritonitis, perforation, and abscess formation.

Case ReportsMorel-Lavallée lesion diagnosed 25 years after blunt trauma.
Morel-Lavallée lesions are closed degloving injuries in which the skin and subcutaneous tissues separate from the underlying fascia secondary to a shearing force. These injuries are uncommon and can be misdiagnosed in acute settings. If treated incorrectly, they can recur, causing complications requiring multiple surgical interventions. Therefore, it is important to discuss the clinical presentation and imaging characteristics in order to improve their diagnosis and management. ⋯ The patient was treated with open surgical excision of the chronic lesion. There was no report of any recurrence up to 10 months after surgery. Such lesion treatments should be guided based on the chronicity of the injury and the patient's symptoms. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case with such delayed presentation.

Case ReportsInferior vena cava injury after blunt trauma: Case report.
inferior vena cava IVC injury is rare with lethal outcomes, the clinical signs depends on the location and associated injuries, andt he treatment might be endovascular, surgical. ⋯ IVC are rare and lethal, the CT scan remains the gold standard and the evolution of endovascular techniques decreased the mortality rate.
