Does Watching a Relaxing Video During Cystoscopy Affect Pain and Anxiety Levels of Female Patients? A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Cystoscopy is noted to be more painful in men. Research has been done to support the use of video in men to reduce pain; it would follow that video would be useful in reducing pain in women as well. ⋯ According to this study, watching a relaxing video during cystoscopy had a positive effect on pain, anxiety, satisfaction levels, and hemodynamic parameters of the patients.

Effect of Kangaroo Care and Oral Sucrose on Pain in Premature Infants: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Premature infants hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit are routinely exposed to many painful procedures. Pain experienced during the neonatal period may lead to negative outcomes, especially in preterm neonates, hence pain in infants should be reduced. Kangaroo care and oral sucrose are some of the methods that can help reduce pain. ⋯ In addition to many benefits it offers to infants, kangaroo care can be used to reduce pain during painful procedures in premature infants.

The Effect of Position Support During Orthopedic Surgery on Postoperative Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Positional pain affect the patient's healing process after the operation. Anti-pressure positioning pads are medical products used to support the patient positioning during surgical procedures. ⋯ The conclusion of this study demonstrated that postoperative pain related to positioning, not the surgical procedure itself, was decreased when antipressure gel pads and viscoelastic sponge support were used together. An unanticipated benefit discovered during the study was earlier mobilization of the study group compared to the control group.

Reducing Pain and Fear in Children During Venipuncture: A Randomized Controlled Study.
Venous blood sampling is a common procedure in the hospital setting and cause significant pain and stress for children. ⋯ Balloon inflation, ball squeezing, and coughing were all effective in reducing pain and fear associated with venipuncture in children aged 7-12 years. These are simple, rapid, and cost-effective methods that nurses can implement during venipuncture with minimal equipment and preparation.

A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Outcomes Associated with Parent-Nurse Controlled Analgesia vs. Continuous Opioid Infusion in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Prospectively compare parent/nurse controlled analgesia (PNCA) to continuous opioid infusion (COI) in the post-operative neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) population. ⋯ I.
