Multicenter StudyPrevalence of retinal vein occlusion in the Australian National Eye Health Survey.
In Australia, knowledge of the epidemiology of retinal vein occlusion remains scarce because of a paucity of recent population-based data. The National Eye Health Survey (2015-2016) provides an up-to-date estimate of the prevalence of retinal vein occlusion in non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australian adults. ⋯ These data suggest that retinal vein occlusion is relatively uncommon in the non-Indigenous Australians aged 50 years and over and Indigenous Australians aged 40 years and over. Similar to previous Australian and international reports, the prevalence of retinal vein occlusion rose sharply with age.

Multicenter StudyCorrecting Indigenous Australians' refractive error and presbyopia.
This paper aims to identify the barriers and solutions for refractive error and presbyopia vision correction for Indigenous Australians. ⋯ The refractive error and presbyopia correction needs of Indigenous Australians are immediately treatable by the simple provision of glasses. The workforce capacity exists to provide the eye exams to prescribe glasses and the cost is modest. What is required is identification of patients with refractive needs within community, referral to accessible optometry services, a good supply system for appropriate and affordable glasses and the coordination and integration of this service within a broader eye care system.

Multicenter StudyEye health service access and utilization in the National Indigenous Eye Health Survey.
To determine access to and utilization of eye health services for indigenous Australians. ⋯ Eye health services for indigenous Australians need to be provided in culturally appropriate facilities with clear links to the indigenous community to optimize access to care and reduce the prevalence of vision impairment. The adequate provision of accessible eye care services is an important component in 'closing the gap' in vision loss for indigenous Australians.

Multicenter StudyCataract in indigenous Australians: the National Indigenous Eye Health Survey.
To determine the prevalence of vision loss due to cataract in indigenous Australians. ⋯ Cataract remains a major cause of vision loss in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. There were no significant regional or state differences in the prevalence of cataract or of cataract surgical coverage, which suggests that increased cataract surgery services are required across the country to address cataract in indigenous Australians.
