Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparative Analgesic Effects of Ibuprofen, Celecoxib and Tramadol after third Molar Surgery: A Randomized Double Blind Controlled Trial.
This study compared the effects of ibuprofen, celecoxib and tramadol on pain after surgical extraction of impacted mandibular third molars. ⋯ The outcomes of this study suggest that celecoxib can be prescribed for effective control of postoperative pain after third molar surgery especially in patients with peptic ulcer disease who will not tolerate the adverse effect of traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It also shows that ibuprofen can be an analgesic of choice for patients who are not at risk of gastrointestinal complications of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Tramadol could be considered for patients with milder postoperative pain after third molar surgery.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEfficacy of lignocaine in gel and spray form during buccal infiltration anesthesia in children: a randomized clinical trial.
To compare the efficacy of 15% lignocaine spray and 8% lignocaine gel as a topical anesthetic, in reducing pain, during buccal infiltration in children. ⋯ There is no significant difference in the efficacy of 15% lignocaine spray and 8% lignocaine gel as a topical anesthetic in controlling pain during buccal infiltration anesthesia, in children.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEvaluation of propofol as a general anesthetic agent for minor oral surgical procedure.
Nausea and vomiting following anesthesia is a distressing problem for the patient as it increases the recovery time, intensity of nursing care and delays discharge. The aim of randomized controlled single blind study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of subhypnotic doses of propofol for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in day care management of cases in oral and maxillofacial surgeries. ⋯ In conclusion, a subhypnotic dose of propofol is fast acting, safe and easily controllable, short acting general anesthetic agent with rapid recovery. The study found that the PONV was significantly reduced in the patient with propofol, no hemodynamic derangements were noted in the postoperative period.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyAnalgesic efficacy of tramadol and butorphanol in mandibular third molar surgery: a comparative study.
Butorphanol tartrate, a mixed synthetic agonistantagonist opioid analgesic has been used for management of postoperative pain in minor and major surgical procedures.(14,20) Tramadol hydrochloride is a centrally acting opioid which is effectively used in postoperative pain in various minor and major surgeries. ⋯ Butorphanol 1 mg was more effective than tramadol 50 mg in respect to postoperative analgesia.

Randomized Controlled TrialCan birth order affect temperament, anxiety and behavior in 5 to 7-year-old children in the dental setting?
The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationships between birth order and child's temperament, anxiety and behavior in the dental setting. ⋯ The role of birth order has been ignored as a possible factor of behavior during routine dental treatment and these findings may shed light on our understanding of behavior management strategies in the dental setting. Considering the increasing pattern of family with an only child both in modern and developing countries, this is more likely that the dental team will face children with negative outcome during dental treatment.
