Case Reports
Cerebral hemorrhage with angiographic extravasation immediately after carotid artery stenting.
Recognizing cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome with intracerebral hemorrhage following carotid artery stenting is critical because the mortality rate is high. This type of hemorrhage usually arises from within several hours to a few days after the procedure. ⋯ A search of the literature revealed only one other similar case report. The etiology of the intracerebral hemorrhage immediately after carotid stenting might be analogous to that of hypertensive hemorrhage.
