Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a multifaceted disease that can present with a variety of types of pain. Unfortunately, both the mechanisms and treatments for pain are poorly understood. The proposed treatments for the various musculoskeletal pain syndromes in EDS have had variable success, and it becomes much more imperative to better define and evaluate the current treatment modalities in treating this debilitating disease. ⋯ Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, pain, hypermobility, arthralgia, subluxation, genetic, physical therapy, interventional pain.

This study describes the use of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks to treat and manage chronic abdominal pain (CAP) in patients who have exhausted other treatment options. Typically, this is a procedure prescribed for treating acute abdominal pain following abdominal surgery. Here we evaluate the use of TAP blocks for longer relief from CAP. ⋯ Abdominal pain, transversus abdominis plane block, chronic pain, chronic abdominal pain, pain management, somatosensory pain, transversus abdominis plane, steroid injection.

Bilateral Ultrasound-Guided Erector Spinae Plane Block Versus Transversus Abdominis Plane Block on Postoperative Analgesia after Total Abdominal Hysterectomy.
Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks provide postoperative pain relief after various abdominal surgeries. Recently, erector spinae plane (ESP) block has obtained vast attention due to its simplicity and usage in truncal procedures. ⋯ Abdominal hysterectomy, transversus abdominis plane block, erector spinae plane block, postoperative analgesia.

Clinical Effectiveness of Interlaminar Epidural Injections of Local Anesthetic with or without Steroids for Managing Chronic Neck Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Chronic neck pain is reportedly considered the fourth leading cause of disability. Cervical interlaminar epidural injections are among the commonly administered nonsurgical interventions for managing chronic neck pain, secondary to disc herniation and radiculitis, spinal stenosis, or chronic neck pain of discogenic origin. ⋯ Chronic neck pain, cervical radiculopathy, cervical disc disease, spinal stenosis, facet joint pathology, cervical epidural injections, steroid injections, local anesthetic injections, systematic review, meta-analysis, randomized control trial.
