Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyQuality of life and patient satisfaction after one-stage implant-based breast reconstruction with an acellular dermal matrix versus two-stage breast reconstruction (BRIOS): primary outcome of a randomised, controlled trial.
There is increasing interest in the use of acellular dermal matrices (ADMs) in implant-based breast reconstruction (IBBR). Suggested advantages are that ADMs facilitate one-stage IBBR and improve aesthetic outcomes. We compared immediate one-stage ADM-assisted IBBR with two-stage IBBR (current standard of care). Our previously reported secondary endpoint showed that one-stage ADM-assisted IBBR was associated with significantly more adverse outcomes. Here, we present the primary endpoint results aiming to assess whether one-stage IBBR with ADM provides higher patient-reported quality of life (QOL) compared with two-stage IBBR. ⋯ Pink Ribbon, Nuts-Ohra, and LifeCell.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyMogamulizumab versus vorinostat in previously treated cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (MAVORIC): an international, open-label, randomised, controlled phase 3 trial.
Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas are rare non-Hodgkin lymphomas with substantial morbidity and mortality in advanced disease stages. We compared the efficacy of mogamulizumab, a novel monoclonal antibody directed against C-C chemokine receptor 4, with vorinostat in patients with previously treated cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. ⋯ Kyowa Kirin.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyChanging geographical patterns and trends in cancer incidence in children and adolescents in Europe, 1991-2010 (Automated Childhood Cancer Information System): a population-based study.
A deceleration in the increase in cancer incidence in children and adolescents has been reported in several national and regional studies in Europe. Based on a large database representing 1·3 billion person-years over the period 1991-2010, we provide a consolidated report on cancer incidence trends at ages 0-19 years. ⋯ Federal Ministry of Health of the Federal German Government, the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme, and International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Multicenter StudyBrentuximab vedotin with gemcitabine for paediatric and young adult patients with relapsed or refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma (AHOD1221): a Children's Oncology Group, multicentre single-arm, phase 1-2 trial.
Patients with primary refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma or early relapse have a poor prognosis. Although many salvage regimens have been developed, there is no standard of care. Brentuximab vedotin and gemcitabine have been shown to be active in patients with relapsed or refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma when used as monotherapy, and each has been successfully used in combination with other agents. Preclinical data suggest that brentuximab vedotin can sensitise lymphoma cells to gemcitabine, supporting the use of the combination. We aimed to define the safety and efficacy of brentuximab vedotin with gemcitabine in children and young adults with primary refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma or early relapse. ⋯ National Institutes of Health and the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudySorafenib plus topotecan versus placebo plus topotecan for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (TRIAS): a multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 2 trial.
Antiangiogenic therapy has known activity in ovarian cancer. The investigator-initiated randomised phase 2 TRIAS trial assessed the multi-kinase inhibitor sorafenib combined with topotecan and continued as maintenance therapy for platinum-resistant or platinum-refractory ovarian cancer. ⋯ Bayer, Amgen, and GlaxoSmithKline.
