Effect of P2Y12 Inhibitors on Survival Free of Organ Support Among Non-Critically Ill Hospitalized Patients With COVID-19: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Platelets represent a potential therapeutic target for improved clinical outcomes in patients with COVID-19. ⋯ Among non-critically ill patients hospitalized for COVID-19, the use of a P2Y12 inhibitor in addition to a therapeutic dose of heparin, compared with a therapeutic dose of heparin only, did not result in an increased odds of improvement in organ support-free days within 21 days during hospitalization.

Surgical Factors and Treatment Severity for Perioperative Complications Predict Hospital Length of Stay in Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery.
Retrospective review of prospectively collected multicenter registry data. ⋯ Careful selection of surgical factors may help reduce hospital LOS following surgery for ASD. Classification of complications by treatment severity can help surgeons better understand and predict the implications of complications, in turn assisting with surgical planning and patient counseling.Level of Evidence: 4.

Hospital Arrival and Functional Outcome after Intracerebral Hemorrhage.
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is associated with an ominous outcome influenced by the time to hospital presentation. ⋯ In this study, less than half of patients with ICH arrived to the hospital in < 6 h. However, early arrival was not associated with the short-term outcome in this data set.

Interhospital Variations in Resource Use Intensity for In-hospital Injury Deaths: A Retrospective Multicenter Cohort Study.
Evaluate interhospital variation in resource use for in-hospital injury deaths. ⋯ We observed variation in resource use intensity for injury deaths across trauma centers. Strongest variation was observed for younger patients and those with traumatic brain injury. Results may reflect variation in level of care decisions and the incidence of withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies.

Palliative Care Consultation and End-of-Life Outcomes in Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients.
The impact of palliative care consultation on end-of-life care has not previously been evaluated in a multi-center study. ⋯ Palliative care consultation was not associated with CPR performed at the end-of-life but was associated with increased incidence of comfort care being utilized. These results suggest that utilizing palliative care consultation at the end-of-life may better align the needs and values of patients with the care they receive.
