ReviewHuman Connection and Technology Connectivity: A Systematic Review of Available Telehealth Survey Instruments.
The current upsurge in telehealth use in palliative and hospice care warrants consideration of patient, family caregiver, and interdisciplinary palliative perspectives on telehealth modality and communication experiences. Currently, telehealth experiences and encounters are being described but not yet extensively evaluated by palliative care teams. ⋯ Palliative care teams may consider familiarity with telehealth survey instrument as an essential component to progress from description of telehealth use to evaluation of telehealth encounters. Current survey instrument outcome reports do not represent inclusivity or diversity, although telehealth is now being clinically applied across settings.

Immunotherapy is increasingly used in the management of early and advanced malignancy. There is limited data regarding the associations between immunotherapy, malignancy, pain and haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. ⋯ There is laboratory evidence suggesting an association between immunotherapy, malignancy, pain and haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. Further clinical evidence is required in order to understand these intersecting phenomena.

ReviewDo the clinical management guidelines for Covid-19 in African Countries reflect the African quality palliative care standards? A review of current guidelines.
Palliative care should be a component of COVID-19 management to relieve suffering, improve patient outcomes and save cost. ⋯ Comprehensive palliative care which addresses physical, psychological, social and spiritual concerns must be prioritized within case management guidelines in African countries.

To examine transitions out of prognostic talk in interactions between clinicians and the relatives and friends of imminently dying hospice patients. ⋯ In a context in which there is a great deal of uncertainty, transitioning towards talk on comfort care can emphasise action and the continued care of the patient and their family.

Inpatient Specialty-Level Palliative Care is Delivered Late in the Course of Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Associated with Lower Hazard of Hospital Readmission.
Little is known about receipt of specialty-level palliative care by people with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or its impact on health care utilization. ⋯ Inpatient palliative care consultation was received by individuals with more advanced disease and associated with lower readmission hazard. These findings support further research and the development of HCC-specific programs that increase access to specialty-level palliative care.
