Navigating a Foodborne Outbreak: Preparation for Interprofessional Practice is an interactive, competency-based, online educational module demonstrating interprofessional practice among health professionals to improve and protect population health, in the context of a foodborne outbreak. Authors reviewed registration data, pre- and postmodule knowledge assessments, and module evaluations from the 978 medical students and physicians ("medical learners") who completed the module from July 2018 to June 2021, comparing their outcomes as well as assessing potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyses were conducted in 2022 and 2024. ⋯ Medical learners reported high satisfaction with the module. Medical students' agreement with statements about the relevance of the module to their current or future responsibilities and awareness of "how clinical care and public health systems work together to protect the health of populations" increased during the pandemic. The module successfully improved knowledge of clinical-public health collaborations to protect population health and is one model of how to integrate PPH content, including physicians' roles in the public health system, into medical education.

Adults with learning disability face multiple adversities, but evidence on their needs and primary care experiences is limited. ⋯ Adults reporting a learning disability had a higher likelihood of chronic health conditions. Their reported experiences of primary care indicate that, despite recent initiatives to improve services offered, further adaptations to the consistency and ease of access to primary care is needed.

Wars and conflicts appear to be a fact of life for populations across the globe, often in places where family medicine functions as the backbone of the health care system. In these situations, family physicians are frequently called on to serve in expanded roles and are witnesses to the enormous mental and physical suffering of individuals, families, communities, and populations. This article examines the lessons family medicine can learn from current wars and other terrible conflagrations. Annals Early Access article.

Generalist approaches can help address several challenges facing today's primary care. However, GPs report insufficient support to deliver advanced generalist medicine (AGM) in daily practice, struggling within a healthcare system that imposes strict adherence to single-disease focused guidelines. ⋯ Our findings have implications for tackling the general practice workforce crisis, highlighting that solutions targeting individual problems will not suffice by themselves. By making visible the grey areas of everyday general practice, we describe the changes needed to target tensions as described by the GPs in this study to ultimately enable, enhance and make visible the complex work of generalist medicine.

This research aims to develop a nursing assessment tool, based on Gordon's Health Functional Patterns, through a content validation by a committee of experts, applying a Delphi technique. ⋯ After this process, a new assessment tool is presented to be applied by primary care midwives in the pregnancy monitoring. The questionnaire has been piloted with 50 pregnant women, determining the most prevalent nursing diagnoses, establishing the workload for the midwife of her implementation of individualized care plans to improve some health indicators of pregnant women.
