Assessment of the Reliability and Clinical Applicability of ChatGPT's Responses to Patients' Common Queries About Rosacea.
Artificial intelligence chatbot, particularly ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer), is capable of analyzing human input and generating human-like responses, which shows its potential application in healthcare. People with rosacea often have questions about alleviating symptoms and daily skin-care, which is suitable for ChatGPT to response. This study aims to assess the reliability and clinical applicability of ChatGPT 3.5 in responding to patients' common queries about rosacea and to evaluate the extent of ChatGPT's coverage in dermatology resources. ⋯ ChatGPT 3.5 exhibits excellent reliability and clinical applicability in responding to patients' common queries about rosacea. This artificial intelligence tool is applicable for supporting rosacea patient education.

Case ReportsUltrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block Combined with Pharmacological Treatment for Rosacea: A Report of Two Cases.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disease primarily affecting the central facial region, significantly involving the facial blood vessels and the sebaceous gland units associated with hair follicles. The stellate ganglion block (SGB) technique can restore balance to autonomic nervous function by interrupting the impulse conduction of preganglionic and postganglionic sympathetic nerve fibers, thereby alleviating excessive peripheral blood vessel contraction, enhancing tissue blood supply, balancing hormone secretion, and modulating immune responses. ⋯ In our case study, two patients with a disease duration exceeding six months underwent treatment involving oral medications, topical applications, and local cold spray, which yielded unsatisfactory results. Subsequently, our department employed the SGB method guided by multiple ultrasound assessments, resulting in nearly complete resolution of the intractable rosacea lesions in both patients.

Association Between Acid-Suppressive Drugs and Risk of Rosacea: Retrospective Study Using the Korean National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort.
Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin disease with multiple etiologies. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2RA) are acid suppressive drugs widely used for gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, and long-term use has been reported to be associated with dysbiosis which is a potential risk for development of rosacea. This study aimed to study the association between rosacea and acid suppressants in the Korean national cohort. ⋯ Results from our study indicate that H2RA or PPI is associated with the occurrence of rosacea among patients with GI diseases in the Korean population. The risk was increased in dose-dependent manner, even after adjusting for confounding variables. Clinicians should be aware of risks associated with prolonged use of acid suppressive drugs.

Tranexamic acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine, an antifibrinolytic that is primarily used to reduce bleeding in surgery, trauma, and dental procedures. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic properties, as well as its ability to suppress melanogenesis have enabled it to be used in dermatology in the treatment of skin conditions such as melasma, acne, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, rosacea and angioedema. Tranexamic acid can be used by various routes of administration including oral, topical and intradermal injection, and in combination with other treatment methods. This review article presents evidence for the effectiveness of tranexamic acid in the treatment of various skin disorders.
