Efficacy of combined naikan and morita therapies on psychological distress and posttraumatic growth in Chinese patients with advanced cancer: A randomized controlled trial.
Advanced cancer (AC) patients experience serious physical and psychological problems with the disease progression. When approaching the end of life, these patients have to cope with not only the bodily illness, but also the spiritual crisis. Conventional psychological treatments reduce distress to a certain extent, but for patients with AC, especially when they face progressive illness and are approaching death, their psychological problems are complex, and no simple solutions are in sight. Therefore, we designed this study to evaluate the efficacy of the combined Naikan therapy (NT) and Morita therapy (MT) on psychological distress and posttraumatic growth in patients with AC. ⋯ The results proved that the combined Naikan and Morita therapies decreased the psychological distress and improved the posttraumatic growth of the patients with AC.

Quantitative Evaluation of the Trauma of CT Navigation PELD and OD in the Treatment of HLDH: A Randomized, Controlled Study.
More evidence is required to support that computerized tomography navigation percutaneous spinal endoscopy in the treatment of highly migrated lumbar disc herniation is a more minimally invasive surgery than open discectomy . ⋯ CT navigation percutaneous spinal endoscopy is a more minimally invasive surgery than open discectomy.Certificate number for the medical institution conducting the clinical trials for humans in China: 934.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyChronic pain with neuropathic characteristics after surgery for major trauma to the lower limb: prevalence, predictors, and association with pain severity, disability, and quality of life in the UK WHiST trial.
To identify the prevalence of neuropathic pain after lower limb fracture surgery, assess associations with pain severity, quality of life and disability, and determine baseline predictors of chronic neuropathic pain at three and at six months post-injury. ⋯ Pain with neuropathic characteristics is common after lower limb fracture surgery and persists to six months post-injury. Persistent neuropathic pain is associated with substantially poorer recovery. Further attention to identify neuropathic pain post-lower limb injury, predicting patients at risk, and targeting interventions, is indicated. Cite this article: Bone Joint J 2021;103-B(6):1047-1054.

Effects of acupoint massage combined with relaxation therapy on patients with postoperative fatigue syndrome after lumbar surgery.
: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common disease in orthopedics. Surgery is shown to provide significant faster relief of pain compared to conservative therapy. However, due to the influence of surgical trauma, anesthesia and other perioperative stress factors, patients may have complications. Among them, postoperative fatigue syndrome (POFS) is a common complication. Traditional Chinese medicine or integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine have been proved to be effective in improving postoperative fatigue. ⋯ : This study is to observe the effects of acupoint massage comblined with relaxation therapy on reducing postoperative fatigue of lumbar disc herniation surgical patients.

Retrievable inferior vena cava filter for primary prophylaxis of pulmonary embolism in at-risk trauma patients: A feasibility trial.
To determine if insertion of rIVCF for PE prophylaxis in high risk trauma patients could result in a clinically meaningful reduction (>24 h) in time that patients are left unprotected from PEs SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND DATA: Trauma patients are at high risk for the development of pulmonary embolism (PE). Early pharmacologic PE prophylaxis is ideal, however many patients are unable to receive prophylaxis due to concomitant injuries. Current guidelines are conflicting on the role of prophylactic retrievable inferior vena cava filters (rIVCF) for PE prevention in this patient population, and robust data to guide clinicians is lacking. ⋯ Level 1 Evidence randomized controlled trial.
