A 65-Year-Old Man With Concerns of Hemoptysis After Recent Motor Vehicle Accident and Blunt Trauma to Chest.
A 65-year-old man with a medical history of anxiety and depression came to the ED with concerns of coughing blood-tinged phlegm for the past 3 days. Four days before the presentation, the patient had a motor vehicle accident as a restrained driver with airbag deployment. The patient struck his chest against the steering wheel. ⋯ He lives by himself and previously worked various jobs. He endorsed active tobacco use and smoking 3 to 6 cigarettes per day for the past 20 years with 5 pack-year history. Patient reported consuming one to two alcohol drinks per month.

Ocular Trauma among Patients Visiting the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology in a Tertiary Care Centre.
Ocular trauma is an important cause of blindness and ocular morbidity worldwide. Knowledge of the cause of eye injuries can guide preventive strategies and optimize management capacity. Our purpose with this publication is to document the survival of uncemented and unconstrained total trapeziometacarpal arthroplasty after energy trauma to the upper extremity. ⋯ There is a high survival rate of uncemented total trapeziometacarpal arthroplasty in the long term, even in the face of energy trauma. It is then a safe implant. Despite of being non-constrained, a good alignment of the prosthetic components is the key to avoid dislocation of the prosthesis.

Maxillofacial trauma and cerebrospinal fluid leak: a retrospective clinical study.
To determine the prevalence of maxillofacial fractures associated with persistent CSF leak, and to assess its bearing on clinical outcomes of consecutive patients managed at our centre. ⋯ This study shows that the prevalence of maxillofacial fractures associated with persistent CSF leak was low, which was 4.5% of patients that presented with persistent CSF leak and 84.9% of the cases resolved after treatment of the various maxillofacial fractures.
